ポンペイの遺跡は、ナポリ湾沿岸に近いカンパニア地方南部の広大な考古学遺跡である。 かつて繁栄し洗練されたローマ都市であったポンペイは、紀元79年のヴェスヴィオ山の壊滅的な噴火の後、何メートルもの灰と軽石の下に埋められました。 保存された遺跡の特徴は、発掘された通りや、訪問者が自由に探索できる家屋が残っている。
市民フォーラムは、市の日常生活の中心を表し、市の行政と司法、ビジネスの管理、市場などの商業活動のためのすべての主要な公共の建物、都市の礼拝の主要な場所に加えて、それを見落とします。
フォルムの北側には木星神殿が君臨し、その背後にはヴェスヴィオが壮観にそびえている。 植民地の演繹（紀元前80年）によって神殿は徹底的な改修の対象となり、本物のカピトリウムとなり、ローマのカピトリウムを模倣したユピテル、ユーノー、ミネルウァの3体のカルト像が高い台座に置かれ、フォルム広場を通りかかった人々に見えるようになった。
マケッラムは凝灰岩のクアドリ柱廊からなり、東側には礼拝用のホールが入り口に沿って高台に設けられている。 ポンペイのマケッラムは、人々が食料を買うことができる都市市場に他ならなかった。 フォーラムの北東に位置するこの複合施設は、確かに頻繁に訪れる人々が多いため、混雑を作りすぎないように広場から邪魔にならないようにしなければならなかった。 柱廊の壁には、魚や家禽の販売といった日常生活の風景や神話の題材が描かれていた。
「アッボンダンツァ通り」はカンパニア州にある古代都市ポンペイのメインストリートのひとつで、フォーラムと円形劇場を結んでいた。
スタビアン浴場はそれぞれ異なる時期に造られた。 建設の初期段階は紀元前4世紀に遡る。 デッラボンダンツァ通りを入った正面玄関は、広い中庭に通じている。 プールは左に、コロネードが右に見つけられて、テピダリウムに、それからカリュダリウムに通じるフリギダリウムが付いているアポディテリウムに分かれた男性用宿舎に通じる。暖房は炉および移動式火鉢から来る熱い空気を循環させる壁および二重床の配管システムによって保証された。 男性用に近い女性用は、アポディテリウム、テピダリウム、カリダリウムで同じように分かれていた。 しかし、いずれもより小さく、男性用宿舎としての豊かな装飾はなかった。 現在私たちが鑑賞できる浴場は、ポンペイが大規模な建築物の改修を行った紀元前2世紀のものです。 スパでは入浴だけでなく、政治、戦闘、裁判、女性についての議論も行われた。
エロティックな絵画が描かれたポンペイの売春宿は、発掘調査の中でも最もよく知られた建物の一つであり、売春宿の機能を持っていた。 売春宿の売春婦は、ほとんどがギリシャ人と東洋人の奴隷であった。 建物は二階建て。 上部には所有者と奴隷の住居があり、下部には5つの部屋があり、すべてビルトインベッドが備え付けられている。 売春宿の名前はラテン語で「売春婦」を意味するルパから取られている。
大劇場は紀元前2世紀中頃に建設され、ローマ様式に従って大幅に修復された。 劇場では、彼らはギリシャ・ローマの伝統の喜劇と悲劇を表していた。 劇場は噴火の堆積物から完全に解放された最初の大きな公共建築物であった。

I loved the tour. The tour guides were very knowledgeable about the history of Pompeii and Herculean. The shuttle was effortless and in a convenient location for pick up. And the winery was excellent.
long but great day. True raptor was great Farina. The two guides in each place or both knowledgeable approachable and did everything at the right pace. My one complaint was we prepaid for the lunch, which I really thought was terrible. You could recommend a few of the kiosks that you endorse of the Mas production nature of the lunch and the length of time allocated to lunch when there was really nothing else to do. There should be reconsidered. Also, I think the pick up direction could be a little bit more specific in terms of how the Guide will find us how we should look for her because we seem to be the last group coming and going from the pick up point.
Such a great experience with knowledgeable guides and a delicious lunch. Would highly recommend.

Touring Pompeii and Herculaneum in the same day was the only way we could fit them both in. Despite being a little stiff at the end from all the walking, we are very glad we did it that way. Both sites are amazing and shouldn't be missed! Rosa, our tour organizer was delightful and kept us on track without making it feel rushed. Celsestina brought Pompeii to life for us! Her detailed knowledge of the site and her descriptions of daily activities of the residents were fascinating. Diana knows Herculaneum very well and highlighted the many differences between that site and Pompeiil Her sense of humor was bright and cheery and she had many stories to tell. You could tell that both of our wonderful guides love their jobs! The drivers were patient and proficient. Well organised tour with comfortable, on time transportation. We would recommend a guided tour as Pompeii tends to be very crowded and having a small party with knowledgeable leader is definitely an advantage. We were particularly impressed with Herculaneum which is well preserved and much less busy - the guide was also excellent.

The tour was very good considering it packed a lot in for a single day. Winery stop for lunch gave a break from the history we were observing. Due to traffic queues, we had a great sunset view on the way back to Sorrento.
