We had an exceptional tour with José that started with him picking us up from Lisbon, traveling to Moorish Castle, Peña Palace, Quinta da Regaleira and finishing back in Lisbon. In total it was about an 8 hour day. Throughout the entirety of the trip José was knowledgeable, friendly, and went beyond what we expected. He tailored our trip to make the most out of each site and highlighted many things that we would have missed on our own or with a larger tour group. In addition to making the sites more enjoyable, he gave us more information about the historic Sintra area, recommended a traditional restaurant for lunch, and gave us a better appreciation for the Portuguese people as well as the country as a whole. The tour was fantastic, José was one of the best tour guides we have ever had, and we would highly recommend this tour.

Absolutely wonderful experience and John (João) was an amazing guide throughout! He truly exceeded all of our expectations and could not imagine we would have seen or enjoyed Sintra anywhere near as much by ourselves. Was worth every cent and more!

Thanks to Bruno we had a handcrafted visit to Sintra that met our needs and exceeded expectations. We visited Pena palace which is incredible, Monserrat palace which was a place to breathe in nature’s beauty and experience an elegant warm “home is your palace”. We also visited Mafra monastery and some secret views in apple beach. Everything was breathtaking, Bruno was super informative and friendly.

The reviews are correct. Bruno is the best! Packed with history, some light hiking, palaces, amazing views, beautiful gardens, and a tour guide who provided the best experience of our time in Lisbon. The guides are locals with historical knowledge and enthusiasm, with whom you will get to the most beautiful unexpected places, which you will not easily find as a tourist. I’m someone who loves to travel and do tours in the cities I visit, so I always do a lot of research before I go. When I planned my trip to Sintra, I knew that although Quinta da Regaleira is incredible, it tends to be very crowded, and I wanted to avoid that. After reading several reviews, I decided to visit Pena Palace and Monserrate Palace, and what a fantastic choice it was! It was an amazing experience that I highly recommend! The tour was excellent. The team at Portugal Unknown Tours was always helpful, taking care of the ticket purchases for us, which allowed us to relax and not worry about anything. There was always excellent communication with everyone, which made me feel super at ease throughout the day. Our guide, José, was absolutely amazing! He gave us the best suggestions, explained everything with great dedication, and even accompanied us on the visits to the monuments, which was a great "plus" for us. In the afternoon, we visited the beaches in the area and had the chance to enjoy a delicious fish lunch, which was absolutely amazing! We also visited the westernmost point of Europe and ended the day with a relaxing walk through the historic center of Cascais. I highly recommend this tour with Portugal Unknown Tours! This was an amazing tour. José was extremely knowledgeable about the area and so kind and thoughtful. We learned about the history and saw many awesome vistas. He brought us to an awesome little restaurant/bakery for lunch (not included). The tour company was Portugal Unknown, and I highly recommend this tour. I can’t say enough about how wonderful the experience was.
