Great guide, amazing time on the cruise. Thank you for being so friendly and offering a nice tour of Amsterdam.
There is nothing to be seen, the glass of the boat is fogged by condensation. the explanations of the voyage with few and brief, are precocious of offering drinks and little illustrate to the traveler.
It was a festive activity which was well run and narrated by a cheerful and knowledgeable hostess. The staff kept the drinks flowing. My only complaint was the boat was filled to capacity. Each guest was shoulder to shoulder, cheek to cheek with the stranger sitting next to them. A little too close for comfort in my opinion.
The guide did his best but nothing that was announced turned out. There was no such festival of lights, it was a very slow dark night walk through the canals with some light work. Hot chocolate was a flavorless Cola Cao water. Snacks were limited to one per person and you had to choose between a sweet biscuit and a few crackers. The water bottle on the table was already used and when I ordered another one, they brought me water in a glass and not a closed bottle. Overall it was a disaster and to some extent a scam because nothing announced happened.
Great experience and pass time with family and friends. They try to pack the tours together (44/45 people, 28/30 people allowed). Our guide was amazing, female from Spain who spoke Spanish.
To flee!!! Tourist trap. Very expensive. And they're full, it's amazing. The boats are not the ones you book on the net. Simple boats with wooden tables and wobbly chairs, for 1h15, this is not at all comfortable and not at all as beautiful as in the photos. Do not book on the net, see first on the premises and maybe you will have a chance to have a nice boat but especially comfortable. The roof was covered but it was not transparent glass and so the few lights we could see, or not see, we did not necessarily see them because we had the opaque roof, too lame. Young animators were trying to set the mood but it's suck too, they yell in the ears If you want to do it, some information: like all the countries of the North, night falls quite quickly so you can go as early as 5 pm and at least you will see a little more than a few lights.
Nice boat, friendly captain who knew all about Amsterdam! Very nice experience with family and friends.
Just so so... you can walk the light show and have just as good of an experience as on the boat. The commentator gave minimal information and were a bit cheesy!
The tour guide was lovely and did a great job. That is, once we got on a boat. We arrived in time for the tour to the location linked and depicted in our tickets We arrived in time for the tour and got in line. They loaded a couple of boats and stopped loading right as they got to us, for the next boat. We were ten minutes after our scheduled time. Several minutes later, the last boat showed up across the canal. It drove off after unloading its passengers. Not to us, but down the canal. No one noticed, of the staff. It was at least three minutes or longer before the three staff of this tour company noticed that the boat was not just crossing the canal to us, but had driven off and disappeared out of view. They were engaged in conversation and messing with their cell phones, not paying any attention. When they finally noticed that the boat was not in front of them, they began trying to get the boat back. When we asked about the tour, one of the staff was quite rude to us. Several times, we overheard them arguing with people on the phone about how this happens too often. He refused to tell us how long it would be before our tour began. Even when we informed him that one of us needed to use a toilet. Actually, he already knew one of us needed to use a toilet from when we asked about a toilet on board or a toilet nearby when we checked in for the tour. When they finally decided to inform the rest of the passengers about their snafu, they said it was “a few seconds” before they called the boat to return. This was not true. It was several minutes, hence why it took so long to return rather than simply turning around as it should have. Further, when we arrived and showed them our tickets, they told us that our tickets were for the city center location, not the one we had walked great distance to, on Waterlooplein (which, by the way, is not correctly marked by the pin they put on the map.) They said it would be fine because their boats would not be full, but our tickets were for the city center location. I told them that we clicked on the map in Google and Apple, and they both showed the location that was not the city center. The map depicted on our ticket shows the location we approached as well; the only indicator otherwise was the note that we were to go to “the center”, 5 minutes from a station and find orange hoodies… no address proper, only the false address. They acted like it was a big deal. And that it was our fault for showing up at the wrong location. It was not. We received the wrong address in the confirmation and on the ticket. The city center would have been preferred. It was much closer to our hotel and given the fact that I am disabled and have an injury, walking eight minutes versus walking 28 minutes each way would’ve been much better for my body. Lastly, the tour was 65 minutes. It was advertised for 75 minutes. We stood out in the cold for almost 40 minutes, waiting for the boat to come back and information about an alternate restroom. We were spoken rudely to by an employee several times, and we did not get what we paid for. I doubt that I would ever buy a tour from this company again on their boating front. I certainly cannot recommend them.
When choosing a heated tour, keep in mind they have to enclose the space. it was very very difficult to see anything through the encloser. Therefore, I was left disappointed. Especially when there was a light structure on the other side of the boat; the view was obstructed by other passengers. They would stand up to see and those of on other side couldn’t see. The tour guide was good. Very informative and kind. He’s the only reason I’m giving this 3 stars. It was warm as promised. But remember there is a trade-off. If I had it to do again, I’d book a tour that promised a warm blanket instead of heater experience.
