Mehmet was a very engaging and enthusiastic guide. The pickup was trouble-free and efficient and the ride (though long) was comfortable. The site, one we got there, was of course stunning; pictures don’t do it justice. One criticism: the place we went to for lunch was a bit loud and rushed. I would have preferred somewhere quieter (even if that meant less food).

Mammet was a charming and excellent guide to the necropolis of Hierapolis and the cool calcium deposits and Cleopatra’s pool at Pamukkale. Total value for the money. The only misfire was the wine tasting. Terrible wine and pushy sales. Otherwise A

Very friendly tour guides that are humorous and informative. Whether you want something quiet or a trip filled with facts of various topics, they respect your trip. Anyone we wants to see what Turkey has to offer, but also learn about the country, culture and history; I’d recommend this tour guide.

This was a great day trip out to Pamukkale and Hierapolis, made especially enjoyable by our guide Mehmet. He's the kind of guide who loves sharing facts and has his fair share of corny dad jokes — which I personally really enjoyed, though it depends on your taste in guides. He was also refreshingly open about sharing his own views on Turkish politics when it came up, which I found genuinely insightful rather than something to shy away from. The drive out is about 2 to 2.5 hours each way, so it's worth knowing that going in — plenty of time to nap on the way out or the way back if you need it. Honestly, I found the travertine terraces themselves a bit of a letdown — they're not nearly as dramatic in person as the photos make them look. Hierapolis, on the other hand, was a lot more interesting, and we ended up spending about 90% of our time there, exploring the ruins and the terraces from that vantage point ourselves. It was also far less crowded than Ephesus, which I'd visited the day before — being able to wander the ruins without a big crowd was something I really appreciated. Cleopatra's Pool is a must-do if you're going — bring a swimsuit, you won't want to skip it. One thing to flag: the tour stops at an onyx shop with pretty steep prices. If you're interested in buying something, definitely negotiate. None of our group ended up buying anything — by that point, right after lunch, we were all just ready to head back. Overall a solid day trip with a genuinely fun and knowledgeable guide. Just temper your expectations on the travertine terraces themselves and lean into Hierapolis, which was the real highlight for me.

Unfortunately, the trip to Pamukkale was below our expectations. We left Selçuk at 8 am and arrived in the Pamukkale region around 10 am. However, instead of starting with the main attractions, our first stop was a shop that sold perfumes, oils, spices, foods, and various Turkish products. We know that this type of commercial stop is common on tours, but we found it quite unpleasant that it was the very first activity of the day, especially since there was a lot of insistence for us to buy something. After two hours of travel, our expectation was to start getting to know Pamukkale and not shop. Next, we visited Hierapolis. The ruins are incredible and have a lot of history, but unfortunately our guide left a lot to be desired. He was very introspective and only provided basic information, without delving into the city's history, the region's geology, or aspects of Turkish culture that could have greatly enriched the experience. This became even more evident on the return, when we stopped to look for another guide from the same agency. In a few minutes in the vehicle, this other guide explained several curiosities about Turkish culture, the region, and even about the geology of Pamukkale that had not been mentioned by our guide during practically the entire day. We have the feeling that we simply didn't have much luck with the guide who accompanied us. We also found the order of the script a little strange. The visit to the famous thermal pools of Pamukkale, which for us was one of the main attractions of the tour, was left for the end, already close to 2 PM and lunchtime. The organization seemed a little inverted and we believe the experience could have been much better utilized with another sequence. Finally, we were taken to lunch, served in a self-service buffet format, but we considered the quality of the food quite questionable. As a positive point, the transport was comfortable, with air conditioning, and the driver was very good. Pamukkale and Hierapolis are definitely worth a visit, but, considering the itinerary organization and especially the little participation and information offered by the guide, we did not have the experience we expected with this tour.

A lovely day, with nice mix of activities. A slight hiccup at the start as we were told we would be picked up at 7, but pick up was at 8 o’clock. Guide was very pleasant and accommodated everyone’s preferences. It would have been nice if the guide had offered more information about Turkey during the journey - the scenery, industry, etc. a very enjoyable trip.
