We had an incredible time exploring Machu Picchu, all thanks to John! From the start, he was incredibly kind, patient, and made us feel like true VIPs throughout the entire journey. He is genuinely passionate about Machu Picchu, and his storytelling completely brought the ancient history to life. Beyond his expertise, his exceptional hospitality really stood out. When I didn't have coins for the restroom, John graciously stepped in and provided them for me. He combines deep historical knowledge with genuine care and thoughtfulness. We cannot recommend John highly enough. He truly made our visit a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Guide Sam and Driver Edgar, cared for us and adjusted trip to our needs and intetests. Sam not only could discuss the way the impressive Inca architecture was made but also the social and belief system that informed it. The trip also introduced us to some current Quechua practices related to the past.

Jonatan was an amazing tour guide! We had a train delay and were late to our meeting point, and as an added bonus, it started to rain. Jonatan made us haul ass (literally). We ran from the meeting point to the bus and made it with minutes to spare before we would have missed our ticket window to Machu Picchu. Once we got in, he was very informative, giving us the history of the site and also taking the most wonderful photos for us! Jonatan was an excellent tour guide, and I am forever grateful he quickly got us through the town, onto the bus, and helped us navigate through the modern wonder.

We had an amazing 5 day tour of Ollantaytambo, Macchu Picchu, surrounding Inca sites, local markets and residents and Cusco. Our Guide, Sam, and our driver, Edgar, were knowledgeable, friendly, funny, prepared, on time and accommodating. They adjusted the specific tours to our needs and interests. We got a better understanding of the history, the Incan civilization and how people lived then and now. We even learned a few Quechua phrases . We highly recommend both Sam and Edgar as well as Cusco Local Friend as the arrangements,connections, hotels were outstanding.

Wow … wow!!! We had seen pictures and read up a bit, but nothing compares to a knowledgeable guide to highlight and teach you about the history and place. Excellent communication and knowledge of the process is ensuing that we had our bus tickets, got in the queue at the right time and guiding us around made all of the logistics so simple that we could enjoy everything. At the end of our trip, the Cusco airport experienced unusual circumstances and the airlines cancelled our flight and rescheduled us for over 36 hours which was going to cause us to miss much of the next part of or tip in Peru. We tried to remedy this ourselves but could not. I contacted Hugo hoping for guidance or suggestions. He went so beyond that. He contacted resources to secure flights the same day for us (we tried persistently ourselves and could not). In addition he arranged for a driver to come back to the airport and take us to Cusco city center so we could enjoy our day. He provided wonderful suggestions of places to see and restaurants. All of this was done without asking anything of us. He ensured we had a wonderful day despite a cancelled flight. I can’t say enough about the level of commitment and dedication of Cusco Local Friend and Hugo . Without their caring support and resources we would not have been able to get to our next destination. If I could give more than 5 ⭐️s I would.

The tour was a great experience. The tour guide was very professional, knowledgeable and great photographer. He took the best pictures. The tour was awesome because it included the ticket to Machu Pichu ruins and the ticket to the bus.

After our private tour through the Sacred Valley, we had booked a private tour through Machu Picchu for the next day. We took care of the travel and tickets ourselves in advance and Local Friend was able to respond to that in a super flexible way. Our guide John picked us up at the hotel early in the morning and took the bus to Machu Picchu with us. We were lucky with the weather and the experience was truly unique! John took a lot of time and brought the history and details of this magical place closer to us. He also had many nice photo ideas and managed our visit so that we could always skillfully avoid the large crowds of people. I would definitely recommend a private guide for Machu Picchu and especially Cusco Local Friend! Thank you very much for this wonderful experience!
