We took a tour of the city of Puerto Plata. Luis was an excellent guide. Friendly, nice, and knowledgeable about all the places. He took us to eat at a local restaurant. The food was delicious and at an affordable price. We recommend them 100%.

Such a great tour of highlights of the city, with plenty of cultural and historical information!!! Sexy Papí Chulo Rosario & Mara were so accommodating and made sure we saw everything we wanted to! Would recommend them to anyone looking for a safe, fun, and knowledgeable tour!!

Very long walk from the cruise ship to the actual ride with the tour group!!! People with disabilities should not use any tour group except those with the cruise companies. In fact, we hired a cab to get back to the ship at the drop off point from the tour company to not have to walk so far back!! Not the fault of the tour companies, but the cruise port is fenced off except for taxi or the ship tours. Our driver Lilo, and guide Mara, were great. So kind and did whatever we asked of them. Golden Beach was a letdown though as there was lots of seaweed and not a very pretty beach. But there was food and shopping areas close, and the chairs and umbrellas were available for about $15 for 2.

This tour really gave you a little bit of everything of everything. Since I was on a cruise ship and we were only docked in puerto plata for one day, I really wanted to make the most of the limited time. I appreciated the smaller group size because while at the rum factory there were sooo many huge groups. With a smaller group we were really able to customize our time (add something in or take something out no one was interested in). This was truly the perfect amount of seeing the city and relaxing on the beach. Big thanks to Mara and Lilo for making our time fun!

Amazing tour! Amazing tour guides! Comfortable shuttle bus! We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Mara, Jose Miguel & “Papi”. Pick up from Amber Cove was easy. The history was very interesting and informative. We felt safe. Our guides never left us. They never rushed us. They took us to Central Park, Cathedral, cigar factory, umbrella street, pink alley, beach (Playa el Pueblito) and back to port on time. Our group of 17 had so much fun. I highly recommend this tour. Invest in a local company at about a third of the cost that the cruise ship is charging. I will definitely use DSRR again. We love you guys! Thank you for making our tour so great.

Mara and Lilo did a great job of taking us around Puerto Plata and listening to our desires about what we wanted to see and do. I would recommend this tour to anyone who had never been here before. I will say that it was about a 10-15 minute walk from the ship to get to the port exit.

Nelson was very good but the distance from the ship to your van was too great for one of the ladies.

DSSR tours is an excellent local choice for a cruise or any other excursion! We had a wonderful day with Nelson and Miguel! I can’t say enough about how much we learned and got to experience in this half day tour! I 100 percent recommend this company when traveling to DR and am planning on using this company again! Friends of ours booked this tour for us based on using this company on their past trips to DR. There were 8 of us. We were picked up exactly on time, in a clean, fun, “party limo”. Covid safety measures implemented. Plenty of alcoholic, and non-alcoholic beverages were provided. Van was very comfortable, and air conditioned well. We opted out of the rum tour. We had an interesting brief city tour with a very friendly, enthusiastic, knowledgeable tour guide, the company provided. We were taken to a local restaurant on the beach. Our lunch was plentiful and excellent. We then went swimming in the ocean, water was warm with a soft, sandy bottom. We were able to walk the beach and get some of the best seashells I’ve ever seen. Lounge chairs were provided and we had ample time. We asked to buy empanadas to bring back to our hotel, and Rosario, the owner/driver happily obliged our request. Jennifer, and her father Rosario, provided such excellent service to us and frequently asked us if there was anything else we needed or wanted. Top notch, very professional service and such a fun outing thanks to them. The day before this excursion, my daughter and fiancé used them for an ATV excursion, they were very happy. Between all of us, we had three different flights home, and we used them for all of our transfers, all private and flawless. Cannot say enough about their professionalism, friendly service, and always striving to make us happy each time. Do yourself a favor, stop shopping around, use this company, they are very reasonably priced, and go above and beyond to meet your needs. You will not be disappointed.
