My husband and I decided to celebrate our 5 year anniversary with a day trip to Nusa Penida. The tour was very well organized & the views were breathtaking. Photos do not do this place any justice. It is absolutely mesmerizing. Yogi, Our tour guide around Nusa Penida, was amazing! He invited any questions we had about Nusa Penida and the Balinese culture. Yogi was very helpful, he assisted with carrying my beach bag because of the exhaustion I endured after all the hiking and the heat from the sun. Impeccable customer service. Yogi also did an amazing job navigating the narrow paved cliff roads which were also riddled with huge pot holes. Driving those roads really takes some skill to maneuver and we never once felt our safety was at risk. Feri our driver to and from the dock to our hotel was fantastic. He was efficient, getting us to and from the dock safely and on time. He spoke English very well which was a plus for us because other drivers we had made it challenging to communicate effectively due to the language barrier. Feri was gregarious and pleasantly kind. And he also gave us insight on the area and culture. He really went above and beyond. Through our morning conversation I mentioned to Feri that I was interested in buying some local mask art. So on our way back to the hotel he offered to stop us by a local shop that sold authentic crafted art. It took me buy surprise because I didn’t expect him to remember due to so much time had past from our morning ride to the evening drop off. Great guy and astounding active listening skills and customer service. Both Yogi and Feri excelled at helping make our day stress free and memorable. And both guys have impeccable customer service! Thanx a million!

We had a really enjoyable day exploring Nusa Penida with ForeverVacation. There are lots of Nusa Penida tours offered by different companies, but I specifically chose this one because it covered both the east and west sides of the island, which felt like the best way to see as much as possible in one day. Everything was very well organised from start to finish. Clear information beforehand, a useful WhatsApp group, smooth transport arrangements and nice little touches such as water and cake. A special mention to Exbi and Wijana, who both helped make the day run smoothly. Exbi handled our hotel pick-up and return, while Wijana was our driver and guide on Nusa Penida itself. One thing that does add genuine value to this tour is that Wijana didn’t just drive us between the different stops, he also acted as our photographer throughout the day. At each viewpoint he knew the best places to stand, the best angles and how to get the shots people actually want from Nusa Penida. He took some amazing photos of us, and that definitely made the experience feel more worthwhile than simply hiring a driver and doing everything yourself. One disappointment was the famous Rumah Pohon Tree House. I had been hoping to get the classic photo walking up to it, but when we arrived there was around a one-hour wait just to take the picture. In the end, we simply couldn’t be bothered to wait that long, so we settled for taking photos of the tree house from a distance. It was a little disappointing as it was one of the photos I’d been looking forward to, but an hour felt excessive for a photo opportunity. It is also worth knowing that the roads around Nusa Penida can be extremely bumpy, and some of the walks down towards the beaches and viewpoints involve steep climbs and descents. On a hot day it can be very exhausting. That said, the effort is worth it for the dramatic coastal views and some genuinely beautiful photo opportunities. For value for money, we paid around £150 for two people, so roughly £75 each. That includes lunch, return fast boat tickets, hotel transfers, transport around the island and your own driver-guide. It isn’t cheap for a day that mainly involves travelling between viewpoints, but the guide does add genuine value by managing the route and taking high-quality photos of you at each stop. More savvy travellers could probably put together a similar day for less by arranging their own transport to the harbour, buying the boat tickets separately and hiring a private driver or guide once on Nusa Penida. Return boat tickets are around £20 per person, so part of what you are paying for here is the convenience of having everything organised for you from start to finish. Having your own guide and effectively a personal photographer throughout the day does make the extra cost easier to justify. Nusa Penida is definitely worth seeing, especially if you enjoy dramatic coastal scenery, viewpoints and photography. I’d just say it’s the kind of trip that makes the most sense if you have enough time in Bali to dedicate a full day to it, as there are so many other things to see and do on the island too. Overall though, ForeverVacation did a very good job. The organisation was excellent, Exbi made the transfers easy and Wijana was a brilliant driver, guide and photographer. We came away with some fantastic photos and had a great day.
