We have taken surfing lessons on past trips to Hawaiian islands, but this one was exceptional. So much fun! Eddie is a fantastic instructor. My husband and I (middle aged) and 17 year old daughter had a blast this morning! Communication about the lesson was excellent as well. Summer contacted me the night before and advised us that conditions would be better a little earlier and she was totally right, of course. I would highly recommend this company! If you’re thinking about it, just book it!

All skill level!! Eddy is great and so patient and kind! He has all the gear and explains everything so thoroughly.

Our private surf lesson in Maui with Eddie was the absolute highlight of our trip! I am 30 and my mom is 65 and Eddie tailored the lesson perfectly to our different abilities! He is a fantastic instructor for all ages! The waves at Kalama Park in Kihei were consistent and perfect for learning. My mom has some reservations, but Eddie's patience and expertise in teaching balance and wave timing gave her the confidence to get up on the board! I have a background in snowboarding and wakeboarding but being from the Midwest I have never had the opportunity to surf before. Eddie really helped me translate those skills to the ocean! After some really helpful instruction on my stance paddling and pop up speed from Eddie, I was able to learn how to feel the wave! As the lesson progressed, he challenged me with bigger waves and technical tips that really helped me improve! If you are looking for the best surf instructor for a family or private group, stop searching and book with Eddie! My mom and I created a core memory that we will be able to talk about for the rest of our lives!

We had truly three excellent lessons with Eddie. He was not only helpful in everything we needed, but he also made each session enjoyable and engaging. His enthusiasm for surfing and his ability to teach made a significant difference in our experience. We genuinely appreciated his patience and encouragement, which helped us improve our skills and confidence in the water. Thank you very much, Eddie! The entire experience was fantastic. Summer made sure to check in and check out experience levels ahead of time to curate a great day. Eddie was phenomenal as our instructor, making sure to tend to each of us and provide great tips for instruction. His outlook, personality, and spirit were beautiful! Highly recommended this experience!

Amazing! Super professional and safety oriented, but really friendly and down to earth too. Unlike the other classes that were in the water at the same time with dozens of students, these guys are focused on making it a personal experience, and making sure you get up on the board and have fun. Couldn't be more appreciative they got both me and my son up surfing, we had a blast.

Summer, Eddie and the SYM crew are the BEST!!! Summer helped us book an early morning lesson for our family of 4. They provided water shoes and rash guard. We arrived to Kalama Park a little early. Eddie explained everything to us out of the water first. Had us practice on our boards in the grass. Then we went into the water. I do not like open water activities but this was so fun! The water in the cove is shallow and the perfect beginning waves (for nervous people like me). Eddie helped get us balanced on the board and lined up with the waves. After a few pushes from Eddie, my kids were popping up and doing it on their own! My son was even doing a little jump trick! The entire time in the water Eddie would help get us in place, coach us, and cheer us on! He helped my kids paddle back out for a wave when they were getting tired from paddling. I'm so glad we had the individualized attention from him! We had so much fun we ended up going back 2 more times! Thank you Summer and Eddie for helping us create lasting memories in Maui!

Lucas was a great instructor, the only part that sucked was the number of people surfing in the same spot. Of course that has nothing to do with the lesson, and the ocean is open to all, but it was a little annoying and scary surfing on top of people (literally). I would recommend this company and highly suggest surfing with Lucas! We will do it again for sure when we are back in Maui. Mahalo!
