We enjoyed the walking tour of Bern with Carlos. It was very informative regarding the history and architectural styles of the city. We would highly recommend the tour.
You see a lot of the downtown area of Bern! Our guide Elmo was terrific! Wear good walking shoes. This is an awesome city!
So much fun history! Our lovely tour guide, Maria, was wonderful. She was knowledgeable, engaging, and very personable! We had a great time.
Franca Lara was an outstanding guide. We booked a last-minute walking tour of Bern and, although the city is small, the two hours flew by—we easily could have stayed with her for three. She was knowledgeable, fun, and great at keeping our entire family engaged the whole time. Five stars for Franca. A quick note on Viator: after we booked and paid, we were contacted and asked if we could change our reserved time/date. When you choose a specific slot, it’s usually because your schedule is tight, so that was frustrating. Thankfully, the tour itself was fantastic. Viator could improve the booking follow-up, but Franca’s guiding was truly excellent.
The visit is a moment to get to know the city, its history and the main monuments. It is a great way to find your way around the city and discover small hidden places. Our guide, Elmo, was extremely prepared, kind and guided us around the city with professionalism, kindness and preparation, responding to our curiosity and clearly explaining the main monuments of the city.

Nur met us in our hotel and immediately began showing us Bern. It was the National “Unification” Holiday and the Bundesplatz was jammed with revelers but she still navigated us through the crowd to see wonders of Bern that we did not know existed! We saw the Zytglogge strike 11, saw Einstein’s apartment, and the Bern Münster in time to hear the bells and hear a concert inside , saw surfers on the Rhine River … and Brown bears at the Bear pits!!
Guide Carlos was excellent, human, warm, at every moment he sought to give everything so that we learn about the history of the city and answered with great knowledge all our questions.
