This was a great tour. Eddie was our guide. He explained everything in English mostly and Spanish as the group was small but bilingual. The places visited were great/beatiful. We spent additional $90 soles each for admissions (Cathedral & archeological sites). Eddie was very knowledgable and patient. We recommend this tour.
Despite my reaching out to confirm pickup location, nobody responded. When I called 2 min after pickup time, I was assured they would call me back on 2 min. When they finally called back they asked for 20 more min to get driver- after 22 min w no communication I called back and was told they were looking for me, but wouldn't tell me where they were, I was lied to. Man finally showed up after lying to plead for more time for driver to arrive. I cancelled after wasting an hour and booked locally.
Dear Viator, We would like to provide our response regarding our client’s comment: 1. First of all, we would like to apologize for the bad experience our passenger had during his visit to the city of Cusco. In fact, this is not the way we normally operate. 2. On May 24, 2026, we experienced a critical error in our internal system. As a result, our last-minute reservations from Viator were not updated in a timely manner. The Passanger Mark T. made a last-minute reservation on 05/24/2026 at 9:49 a.m. Cusco City Tour which he reserved started at 1:00 p.m. that same day at the entrance to the Cathedral in the city of Cusco. Unfortunately, our team did not update the reservation in our service schedule, and the passenger was not informed in a timely manner regarding the instructions regarding the tour. Normally this process is carried out at least 12 hours before the start of the tour for all passengers. Also, the passenger, after making the reservation, the client did not contact us, but instead went directly to the meeting point. At 1:02 p.m. 3. The passenger contacted our team, and due to lunch break hours and the high demand we have during high season, he did not receive a quick response. It was at this moment that our team realized that not all of our reservations had been updated and that we had a passenger waiting to be picked up for the tour. 4. In this case, our team offered the passenger an alternative. He could wait approximately 20 minutes for our driver to pick him up. Within about 40 minutes a guide would arrive and provide him with a private service exclusively for him. The passenger accepted this option. But due to traffic issues, the guide arrived a few minutes late,. The driver had been unable to locate the passenger in the plaza within the indicated time frame. 5. The guide arrived and contacted the passenger, explained why he had arrived late, and invited him to begin the tour. However, the passenger responded with “NO” because he said too much time had passed. The driver had been in the plaza long before the guide arrived and had tried to locate him, but he had been unable to find the passenger. In the end, the passenger did not want the private tour that we set up exclusively for him because he believed the guide was lying to him. As a result, the passenger left the conversation without further explanation. 6. Later in the afternoon, we contacted the passenger to apologize and offered several options in response to the bad experience he had with us, but we never received a response from him. We offered him a private tour, a full refund of the amount paid, and a compensatory dinner or lunch at a top restaurant in the city of Cusco. 7. Later that evening, the passenger requested a refund through Viator for the amount paid for the tour, and our team prioritized the refund, which was processed as quickly as possible. The passenger received a 100% refund of the amount paid. 8. In the end, the passenger posted his review on the Viator website regarding the tour and the experience he had with us. We will view this as a starting point that will help to strengthen our operation as a Tour Operator, since we now see that it is necessary to have a more modern and updated system. This would allow us to improve communication with passengers who make last-minute reservations. We will also be able to be more efficient with the options that we offer our passengers as we continue working every day toward continuous improvement. Travel 1 Team
Great tour! Lots of good info. Nora our guide was awesome. And Jake who walked us from our hotel was great. What a fun day!
Guide was phenomenal! Locations visited were very interesting! Bus was comfortable with a good sound system so I was easy to hear the guide. Pick up was a little confusing - there were 1 options but really they wanted you at the Cathedral.
Juvenal was our guide for the half‑day Cusco City Tour, and he made it a great experience. We began at Qoricancha and continued through the surrounding archaeological sites, learning about their history and significance. The tour also included a visit to the Cathedral, which we did at the end of the itinerary. This allowed for a quieter, more private experience. Juvenal provided excellent explanations about the Cathedral’s importance and its artwork, sharing fascinating details we wouldn’t have learned otherwise. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and communicated everything clearly in both English and Spanish. Overall, Juvenal made the tour engaging, informative, and memorable. Thank you!
Our guide, Juvenal, was extremely knowledgeable about all the sites that we visited. I wish we hadn’t visited the politically correct alpaca wool product store. I admit, I bought a poncho, but it just felt like a commercial thrown into a good PBS show featuring Incan ruins. I was dissatisfied with the young men who ran us around the city to meet the tour guide. But I guess it’s a symbiotic relationship where the tour companies funnel tourist like me to the guides. That being said, the guide was really good and the weather was perfect for walking around at 12,000 foot elevations. I would suggest that the guide company provide water as well as either snacks or time for a lunch break. When the tour ended at 2 PM, I know everyone was really hungry.
My Cusco tour was absolutely incredible — every site was impressive and full of history! The highlight of the experience was definitely our guide, Jacob. He was extremely knowledgeable and passionate, sharing so many fascinating details about the Inca culture and each location we visited. What impressed me the most was how smoothly he managed to guide both English and Spanish-speaking guests at the same time, making everyone feel included and engaged throughout the tour. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience — highly recommend!
The guide Jacob was was excellent and very knowledgeable. He helped me bought tickets and make everything easy. I was the only English speaker in the group and he explained the sights in English to me while the rest of the group were given the tour in Spanish. He later accompanied me to the Cusco Cathedral even everyone in the group didn't want to go.
We booked the activity last minute and there was a misunderstanding with the agency, which did not pick us up. We contacted the agency and they adapted our visit. We joined the group 1 hour later and made the first stop at the end alone with a private guide. The agency assumed the additional cost of Coricancha as compensation.
It was a very unique experience and the tour guide tried his best to accommodate us because most of the tourists with us then were all Spanish. Maybe we could have enjoyed more if he gound time explaining in English as he did in Spanish..but i understand because he was also running after time.. But he tried his best.. the Tourist areas we went into were really very historic!!!
