My 12 year old daughter’s dream was to go to Pompeii. I researched sights thoroughly before choosing Lello’s company. To ensure we got the best from the visit & that my daughter wouldn’t feel left out in a normal, larger tour (mostly with adults), I arranged a specific 4-hour private tour, including Villa of the Mysteries. I was surprised when Lello himself was our guide. He was very attentive to, & relaxed with, my daughter. She loved it. I felt we got a load of insights you would not get from a guidebook or perhaps in a larger group. Added value was (a) the banter amongst the tour guides, who either slagged Lello, or were slagged by him and (b) stories of how the design of his house & gardens has been influenced by the Romans he admires so much. Finally Lello suggested a few specific things we should see after the tour ended, which we did & were well worth while. I strongly recommend going a day or two later to the Archeological Museum in Naples & getting a guide there too. (That can be arranged on arrival.)

My husband and our teenage kids just had the pleasure of going on a half day tour of Pompeii’s ruins with Lello himself. To say Lello was knowledgeable was an understatement. The amount of detail he gave us about every aspect of Pompeii was incredible. He involved everyone from the start, was incredibly friendly, funny and easy to get along with. His passion and enthusiasm was contagious and he made Pompeii come to life for all of us.

Our guide, Italo, provided one of the best historical tours I’ve taken. He was quite knowledgeable and a great storyteller, and the way the tour was structured allowed the details to naturally build on themselves. We had a much deeper understanding of the ruins after just a few hours. Highly recommend!

We had the tour pick us up with private car in Rome and drove to Pompeii. Emanuelle was our driver and was awesome. Highly recommend him for any private drive around Rome. We got to Pompeii and Giovanna was waiting. She has so much positive energy. Truly loves what she’s doing and is really engaging, even for two teenagers. After the tour we were driven to our Sorrento hotel. I can’t recommend this company enough. First class!

If you’re visiting Pompei and are not yourself an expert on ancient Pompeian civilization, you *must* take a guided tour. I cannot stress that enough. It’s an unbelievably fascinating place, but without an expert guide you will miss so much of the ancient (and bizarre by modern standards) culture preserved in the ruins. We were *so* lucky to have Lello as our guide. Not only is he a professional archeologist with deep expertise on Pompei, but he’s also an engaging and hilarious host who kept us fascinated throughout the entire two-and-a-half hours. There’s no doubt that Lello was the key reason we loved Pompei; he enabled us to make the most out of our visit.
