This tour is meant for Osaka city only for the Namba, dotonburi and Kuromon market areas. it includes experiencing the vibe of Osaka in shopping, food and sightseeing. Transport is not included though if it entails hopping onto the metro. I had a wonderful time with my guide Ami, who was very accommodating to take me to the Osaka Castle and Umeda as well to try out the Snack Bar there. It was a different experience as it is a 'standing' food court (no seats provided). The repertoire of food choices though is excellent, and showcases the eat-and-go culture of the busy residents here. The bonus for me was that I was the only traveller who booked this tour. 10/10 for Ami and his recommendations, and diligence in making it a fun experience too.
Hello our dear guest, Thank you so much for sharing your thoughtful review. We’re so happy to hear that you had such a memorable time exploring Osaka with us. At Washoku Club, we believe that every Japanese food tour should be more than just tasting—it’s about truly feeling the spirit of the city, its flavors, and its hidden gems. That’s why our itineraries are carefully designed to highlight not only Osaka’s famous food hubs like Namba, Dotonbori, and Kuromon Market, but also to create opportunities for personalized experiences when guests show special interests. We’re so happy Ami was able to tailor your tour to include spots like Osaka Castle and Umeda—those little touches are what make our tours unique. It’s exactly this flexibility and attentiveness that allow us to create journeys you’ll remember for a lifetime. Whether it’s discovering the standing snack bar culture, indulging in Osaka’s diverse street food, or learning about local traditions, our goal is always the same: to make you feel connected to the real Japan. We also love that you got to enjoy the tour as a private experience—it’s one of the reasons many of our guests say our tours feel less like sightseeing and more like being guided by a local friend. Just to clarify regarding transportation: in this specific tour, the itinerary is designed with public transport, which we make clear in advance as part of experiencing Osaka like locals. Of course, for other tours we also offer private car options (clearly mentioned in those itineraries), and if you had preferred that for this tour, we would have been more than happy to arrange it for you — ensuring your comfort and satisfaction is always our top priority. We can’t wait to welcome you back for another adventure, perhaps with our Shibuya Food Tour, Asakusa Food Tour, or Tokyo Food Tour. Each city has its own heartbeat Arigato Warm regards, Nour Washoku Club Culture and Food Tours
