Itinerary
This parish located on the north coast of São Miguel island is where we start and end the tour. After starting our tour on paved roads, we will ride along the seafront of and explore dirt roads in this area.
Near Serra Devassa, there is the Muro das Nove Janelas, an aqueduct considered a heritage site of historical value.
This is a mountain with an altitude of 845 meters. The breathtaking view is very similar to “Miradouro da Boca do Inferno” but from a higher perspective (accessible with the quads) and even more magnificent due to its altitude. From here you can see Lagoa Rasa, Lagoa de Santiago, Lagoa Verde, Lagoa Azul and a view to the whole crater of Sete Cidades dormant volcano. If weather is good, this one of the high lights of the tour, where we can see almost the whole island from the top.
This viewpoint allows you to contemplate the beauty of Lagoa das Sete Cidades and all its surroundings, and also allows you to admire part of the north coast of the island of São Miguel.
Located at an altitude of 540 meters, this viewpoint offers a unique and panoramic view over Sete Cidades crater. Depending on weather and dirt roads conditions we can get to see the same view from a diferent perspective “Miradouro das Cumeeiras”, where we can have an amazing view to the green and blue lake but from the opposite side of the Crater.
Here you can expect to make some dirt paths that surround the Blue Lagoon in Sete Cidades with incredible views over the lakes.
This is a parish located on the north coast of the island of São Miguel. This is one of the transit villages that we pass on the way back to the meeting point. Here we will pass by Poços (bathing area) and the place of the old whale’s factory, disabled since 1970 where only the factory chimney remains. Here we will also make a dirt path that connects this parish to Fenais da Luz.
Here we get back to where we started, exploring some seafront dirt roads.

It seems like a family owned business which was really nice! The tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. He made sure to check in with everyone a few times throughout just to make sure everyone was good and didn’t have questions. We had been to a few different viewpoints of Sete Cidades before doing this, but i think it’s still worth it! It’s a different experience than just driving and pulling over. Also, you get to explore different areas/top of viewpoints that would only be reachable by walking /hiking etc.
Awesome experience, so worth it and would totally recommend. Each family member had their own quad and it was perfect
Amazing fun! Great way to see the natural wonders on the west side of the island. Side by sides and ATVs allow for persons of any age to enjoy the experience. Highly recommend!
Such a great experience! We each got our own quads, and the tour covered so much ground. The pace was comfortable, the staff was wonderful, and the views—from high up on the mountain tops down through the small towns—were amazing. Definitely worth the money!
Great trip! Didn’t get dusty/muddy but it did sprinkle rain for a bit, we were dry in 10 minutes in the sun. Awesome views!
Look, it's just okay, it's too guided a route, everyone in a straight line, you barely enjoy driving.. for what it is I expected more spectacular places where conventional tourism didn't reach but it is very overcrowded. The places we go to can almost be reached by a normal car. On the other hand, we asked for two two-seater buggies and they gave us one for 4.. I don't know; it's fine but it's just okay, it's not as much of an adventure as I thought…
What an incredible way to see the island. The experience was over 4 hours in length and worth it. It was foggy and drizzly so it was hard to see everything but it made it more magical. This is a must experience.
Great time on the quads even though the weather wasn’t great. I wished they had given a bit more history of what we were seeing. Totally recommend.
This adventure was the highlight of our trip! Our family of four, including two teen boys ages 18 and 19 each had our own quads. The boys had never driven one before and did great. The guides were very friendly and offered to take photos at every stop along the way. We had a perfect day of weather for stunning views. Would recommend 10/10.
Wow! It was the highlight of our trip. The best way to see the North part of the island and Sete Cidades. Bruno was great. Can’t say enough great things about this ATV tour - do it!
