Downtown’s Old Haunts is a journey into Newfoundland’s Creepy Culture, exploring the history, superstitions, tragedies, and strange experiences that linger to weave frights and folklore through some of the oldest streets in North America. Meet us at historic Erin’s Pub early to grab a drink and check-in. We’ll make two more pub stops along the way before ending the night at the Newfoundland Embassy, where amazing local music awaits you. PLEASE NOTE: this tour is in St. John's, Newfoundland NOT Saint John, New Brunswick.

Mike obviously loves St. John’s and everything creepy and mysterious about its history…… throw in a few pints and you have a great night with your friends.

My favourite go to when visiting a city is a haunted ghost walk, so when I found this one I was very excited. With the inclusion of a Pub Crawl it was a great night. Our guide, Mike, really knew his stuff and offered us plentiful facts, history and interesting tidbits about St Johns—while sharing some of his own personal experiences. The stops we made along the way, at three different pubs, really added some lovely atmosphere. Well done!

Truly cannot say enough good things about this tour. Mike not only knows his history but also how to tell a story, and how to add his own personality and experiences into them without taking away from the facts. The passion for the stories, the city and shining a light on otherwise unknown history is contagious, and it’s awesome to have people like Mike making creepy culture accessible in such a genuine and authentic way.

Absolutely fantastic experience. The stories were informed, authentic, genuinely creepy but never exploitative or sensationalized. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking to learn about the city and island in a new way or just looking for a fun evening and great stories.

Mike was truly wonderful - not only was the tour informative and fun but you could 100% feel the passion Mike has for all things creepy, strange and unusual. He made my husband and I feel extremely welcome, and there is so much dark history to enjoy. All the pubs were great as well!

Really fun way to see a different side of downtown St. John’s! In addition to local legends, Mike also shared firsthand experiences from his own ghost hunts in historic properties. A great mix of history and humour, with plenty of time to meet new friends at each pub stop.
