Haunted Dublin Walking Tour

Description
We begin our journey through the darker side of Dublin's storied history in the midst of the famous Temple Bar, before plunging into the dark heart of the old medieval city. On our ghoulish adventure through the city, we'll venture down cobbled lanes and alleyways, getting to the lesser-seen sides of some of Dublin's most famous landmarks, as well as uncover some of the city's best kept secrets, and forgotten corners. Just some of the ghastly things we'll cover on the tour are: - Bram Stoker's Dublin & some of the real-life inspirations for Dracula - Horrifying medieval crime & punishment - Grave robbing & body snatching - The banshee & the dark side of Irish mythology - Hell & The Hellfire Club - Witchcraft in Irish History - Serial Killers, Poltergeists, Headless Horsemen, & much more. . . We love Dublin, and we love showing people around Dublin. This tour is a lot of fun, whether you're interested in the chilling side of Irish History, or just want a unique way to see the city.

In the heavenly shade of Dublin's oldest Cathedral once stood a sordid warren of streets known locally as 'Hell'. Playground to the rich and powerful, home of brothels and booze-houses. Here we'll meet some of the characters of this raucous (and at times violent) neighbourhood, including some who's ghoulish presence is still reputedly felt around the streets to this day.
St. Patrick's Cathedral is named after Ireland's patron saint, but it has seen more than it's fair share of sinners over the years. Here we'll hear about some of the ghostly goings on at nearby Marsh's Library, as well as hear stories from the Liberties, and the notorious 'four corners of Hell'.
Oldest public library in Irelands, nestled in the shadow of St. Patrick's Cathedral
The ruins of an old church graveyard, hidden down a dark laneway, right in the centre of the city.

Our guide was great; however, you don’t actually VISIT any “haunted” places. You just stand outside of buildings or across the street from locations. It’s truly just a walking tour with some entertaining stories so the description is very misleading. We were pretty disappointed.
Fascinating and Lee was a fantastic tour guide. Lasted about an hr and heard multiple stories I didn’t anticipate how they’d go. Very fun experience to gain some morbid knowledge of Dublin history.
Very good experience and engaging guide. Lee was an extremely captivating storyteller.
We had a great time on this tour
Deirdre gave a spectacular tour, full of stories and history, and also local culture. At the end she took us back to Temple Bar and offered food recommendations if folks wanted them. It was really a very good tour. It does cover some ground so be prepared to walk, but totally worth it.
It seemed as though a lot of it was contrived to create this particularly tour, and that was very little of it that seemed to be realistic. It was somewhat interesting but unbalanced I would not do it again.
We had a fantastic time on the Haunted Dublin tour and would highly recommend it. What made the experience especially memorable was our guide, Deirdre, who was exceptionally knowledgeable about Dublin’s history and brought the city’s past to life in such an engaging way. Throughout the tour, she shared fascinating historical details, local legends, and eerie stories that made every stop interesting and memorable. Her storytelling style kept everyone engaged from start to finish, balancing history, atmosphere, and humor perfectly.
Great tour. Guide was very informative and funny.
The Original Dublin Haunted Tour was one of the absolute highlights of our trip. Deirdre was an amazing guide—friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and a gifted storyteller. She brought Dublin's dark history to life with fascinating stories, interesting historical facts, and just the right touch of humor. The tour was the perfect mix of spooky, informative, and entertaining from start to finish. Every stop had its own unique story, and Deirdre's enthusiasm and passion for Dublin's history and legends made the whole experience even more enjoyable. If you're looking for something different from the usual sightseeing, this tour is definitely worth it. We had such a great time and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Dublin. It was an unforgettable experience and without a doubt one of the best things we did during our stay.
