We had a good time discovering the magnificent city of Geneva; since it is so beautiful, we would like to thank our charming guide Claudia, she was very nice.
Claudia's two-hour tour of Geneva was exactly what I expected. Claudia knew her stuff, was prepared, and adapted to us.
Bruno - thank you for the wonderful introduction to Geneva and Switzerland. We had a wonderful experience.
Our Geneva private walking tour guide was a no show. We were at the designated location 15 minutes prior to our time and waited another 45 minutes after. I have submitted photographic proof. (A photo of the restaurant where we were meeting 8 minutes prior to the time). The tour company then proceeded to call me a liar and said that I wasn’t there. The messages they sent were unbelievably rude and insulting. They not only called me a liar but called me elderly (which I am not), and that I should brush up on my IT skills. They claimed I have What’s App (which I don’t). They said it’s 2026, who doesn’t have What’s App? Well we don’t use it much in the US. They also said that they called me over and over. Then I sent proof with screen shots of my call log and there were no missed calls, only outgoing messages to them that were not answered. All they had to do was say “I’m sorry for the mix-up” and it would have been fine. Mistakes happen. Instead they continued to rail on me over and over. Luckily the messages were all on the Viator app and saved. When I got a hold of Viator they were helpful and apologetic. They are refunding me my money which I appreciate. I just hope they cancel their contract with this company. What terrible professionalism.
Enough of your lies. Our guide was at the meeting point (restaurant) for 30 minutes from the start of the tour. He checked everywhere at the restaurant. You did not show up and dialled his number only once within those 30 minutes, and you dialled it incorrectly with the wrong country code. Also, you lied about not having WhatsApp. Both the guide and we called you on WhatsApp many times. I have screenshots of your WhatsApp account being active! The funny thing is, the day after the tour, you deleted your WhatsApp Account. But now you claim you never had WhatsApp. And you claim that in the US you don't use WhatsApp much. What an utter rubbish. WhatsApp is the number 1 messaging app in the US, and almost everyone has it. You had it too, you just lied about not having it. Probably because you were late and were not on time at the meeting point. What is the most likely, you must have been late for the tour. Of course, the guide only waits 30 minutes. We have proof that the guide waited at the correct location, but we decided to refund you instead of getting into further arguments with you. Viator did not refund you, we did. Viator cannot refund you without our approval. 45 minutes after the tour started, you finally called the correct number of the guide, but by that time he had already left. You wanted him to come back, but of course, he can reject that since you did not show up on time. This tour is very highly rated, and our guides are professional and show up on time. But of course, we can't do much when someone is late and decides to make up some stories in order to force through a refund.
Claudia was a wonderful guide who took pains to get to know us, our interests, and our special requests. I needed additional sun protection, so she loaned me her umbrella; my wife developed knee soreness, so Claudia found her a return taxi. Finally, after a very enjoyable tour of Old Town, she led us back to our hotels on the tram.
