Itinerary
Fotografiska, the Contemporary Museum of Photography, Art & Culture, is the global destination for photography and visual storytelling. Housed in a historic customs house and opened in 2010, Fotografiska quickly became a cornerstone of Stockholm’s cultural scene and has since expanded to Berlin, Shanghai, and Tallinn. Across several floors, Fotografiska showcases the work of both renowned and emerging artists, exploring photography and visual art in all its forms—from classic prints to digital media and multidisciplinary installations. The museum features exhibitions that change almost every month and a dynamic events programme. On the top floor, Fotografiska’s award-winning bistro and restaurant offer seasonal, locally sourced dishes with some of the city’s best views. On the ground floor, a curated museum store offers posters, books, gifts, and design objects inspired by current and past exhibitions. Tickets valid for anytime during opening hours (10am-11pm) on the date booked.

I was unaware of the museum until it was pointed out during a boat trip, but I am so pleased to have visited. I started in the restaurant and had a delicious pasta dish. This is not a museum, as such, but has visiting exhibitions by different photographers. My particular favourite was a surreal AI generated video reel by Kelly Boesch. I was captivated by it.
Always interesting to visit the new exhibitions. The staff was a bit distracted and seemed stressed, you felt in the way if you had questions about tickets or if you wanted to buy something from the shop.
Tack så mycket för att du besökte oss och fick kika på en ny utställning. Vi ska ta din feedback om personalen vidare till ansvariga på plats! Välkommen tillbaka
This gallery is a must see in Stockholm. Perfectly curated and so much incredible art. The photographs supported by light and sound. I wish I had allowed more time to explore here. Would come back in a heartbeat.
This is everything! Thank you. You are more then welcome back in the future!
A nice museum with a variety of temporary exhibitions, although not a permanent collection. The exhibitions were interesting, but we felt the admission price was a bit high for what was on offer. On the plus side, it was great that the museum stays open late, which meant you could fit it in after other traditional tourist sites close.
We do have a permanent collection called Wall of Fame where we have portrayed all the photographers that has had an exhibition. Thank you for coming to us and yes, it's awesome to coma late at night right? Warm welcome back.
If you're a photographer, a photography enthusiast, or simply interested in cultural activities, this is a great experience. The exhibitions were very well curated; it was a very satisfying visit.
Thank you so much for your kind words! Warm welcome back to us. <3
"Fotografiska Stockholm" is one of the world's leading museums for contemporary photography. It is located in a historic former customs house built in the Art Nouveau style right by the water in the Södermalm district. The exhibition "Short & Sweet" currently showcases the work of Martin Parr, who passed away in 2025. It features humorous everyday moments and sharp social satire from the legendary British Magnum photographer. On the ground floor of the museum, vegetables are grown that are used in the award-winning restaurant.
Thank you so much for coming to Fotografiska Stockholm. We are so glad that you enjoyed the exhibitions. Warm welcome back!
DONT GO, AI 'ART' EXHEBITIONS!!! Please be aware of so called ai 'art' that you will be paying for and thus supporting. The actual art was incredible, though.
Hi Tjarlie! Thank you for your feedback both here and on Google. The exhibition shows how eight different artists work with AI and features both voices that critically examine the technology and those that use it as a creative partner. We are glad that you enjoyed the other exhibitions.
I must clarify that I am not a professional photographer or an art expert, but I really did not understand the meaning of the collection of displayed items. Additionally, there was an ongoing exhibition with a private party, so it was only possible to visit one floor out of two.
Hello, we’d first like to thank you for visiting us. We currently have six different exhibitions, and we’re sorry that none of them were to your liking. Sometimes we hold events that require us to close the exhibitions for a few hours, when this happens, we’ll post a notice on our website and inform you at the front desk. We hope you’ll find an exhibition you like better on your next visit. Warm welcome back!
Amazing, must see, and the restaurant upstairs is like a cherry in a cake
