Very pleasant experience! The class was well structured, organised and enough variety. I was the only person but Andre made me feel very comfortable, and shared many insights about Guatemala and the cuisine. I highly recommends
I originally booked the 10:30 course cooking class, but on the day of the class, the host let me know I would be the only participant and offered to move me to a later time. I appreciated being given the option, though I wish I had been informed a day or two earlier. I’ve taken solo cooking classes before and had no issues, but given the amount of food being prepared, I preferred joining another participant later in the afternoon. Overall, Andre was an amazing chef, and his sous chef Janet was wonderful as well. I truly enjoyed learning about the culture and traditions behind the dishes. This cooking class was one of the highlights of my trip. 10/10 recommend for anyone who enjoys exploring new cuisines and experiencing different cultures.
I LOVED this class!! I chose the option to learn how to make all the dishes and the time flew. The team are all super lovely people, kind, patient, and helpful while you're learning, and the dishes we made were delicious. My favourite was the fried plantains and chocolate mole - so good!! Must try experience in Antigua. Great communication as well for the pick up and drop off to the class, as it's located just out of town.
I had an amazing experience taking this cooking. From start to finish, the instructors were welcoming, knowledgeable, and made the entire experience fun and engaging. They explained each step clearly, shared the history and cultural significance behind the dishes, and encouraged everyone to participate. The ingredients were fresh, the recipes were authentic, and everything we made was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this class to anyone visiting Guatemala. Whether you’re an experienced cook or a complete beginner, this is a memorable experience that’s well worth your time!
Great experience! The chef was very engaging and my 8 and 12 year olds (who don't normally eat vegetables voluntarily) loved trying the dishes. Highly recommend!
The activity is very interesting. The chef is very friendly and passionate about cooking. He is a very good teacher.
This class was so fun! We went as a family group of 8 and everyone raved about the experience. Andreas is an excellent teacher who not only showed us the steps, but provided the background stories that helped us connect with the cultural significance of what we were preparing. This was a great experience for us and I highly recommend it!
The class was fun and the food was delicious! The conversation with the chef and participants was engaging and interesting. Some of the stuff we learned from the class can be applied outside just the dishes we were taught to make as well!! Money and time well spent! :)
I went to this cooking class solo and had so much fun! Everyone at casa San Miguel was so kind and inviting. Included transportation was the cherry on top. If you’re thinking about it, do it. Thank you guys so much! One of my favorite memories from Antigua.
We had an amazing time at Casa San Miguel! The staff was so helpful + fun, and the food we made was delicious:)
