It is very challenging hike, however most of the people make it. Take ibuprofen, 3 pairs of socks, wet wipes and toilet paper, headlamp, mask against the dust, warm hat, 1 pair of warm socks and warm gloves, thermals as it is very cold even in a sleeping bag and tent. Make sure to have snacks and 2-3 liters of water per person. Going up is hard, take very short breaks to rest your calfs or catch a breath. Walking sticks are recommended, definitely have a hiking shoes. Going down is quite dangerous, it is easy to slip on the gravel. Once in a life time experience, make sure you have a good phone camera. Wear a hat, have layers, you will need a jacket, you can borrow from company. Guide speaks only in Spanish. If you decide to go to Fuego, it will be even harder hike and they may not let you go very close, so save your energy ij the evening and rest and watch the eruptions from 1am as 3am you will wake up to hike the summit of Acatenango.
English was supposed to be possible, but in reality there were only guides who spoke Spanish. There's not much rice and it tastes bad. Rental gloves are perforated, jackets are thin, and all rental equipment is dirty It's too cold, so you need at least an inner down jacket The water doesn't follow, so we need to get it. I almost had to go without the proper equipment because I didn't know how to explain the way to Mount Fuego Thanks to other kind customers, I was saved, but it was not a very good experience
Incredible experience, everything very coordinated with very good guides. An experience to repeat with friends or alone. You will surely make friends at the top of the volcano.
Gracias por tu recomendación.
