This was my second tour of the chocolatarium it was so good the first time I wanted to go back with my husband and grandson. Both experiences were excellent. I had a different guide this time which was actually quite nice as it made the tours slightly different. Would definitely recommend this as something to do in Edinburgh particularly if you have children with you.
Nia was amazing in explaining the journey Cacao undergoes to become the chocolate we eat,It was intresting to know that Single origin chocolate tastes so good, the Chocolate making part was fun especially with the kids
Susan was absolutely brilliant and very informative. It was a birthday gift for me and my daughter came along with me, we had a great time and nearly ate all the different options of chocolates. Worth every penny
Recommended by family friends. I thought this was a little pricey given other options for family activities in Edinburgh but booked anyways. It was worth the money! Lovely guide. Great blend of information with samples and hands on experience, enjoyed by both our teenage sons as well as both parents. Our son has a nut allergy- not a problem. Our friend is vegan- not a problem! So much better than cadburys world! Highly recommended!
Overall the most enjoyable experience of my trip so far. If you read any reviews saying that they couldn't find the place. They probably didn't look around the place. It is at a corner so it may be hard to find. Our tour guide, Eimear was just the best! The funny jokes she added were just the best though it might not be as humorous for some people. The jungle (start) was nice background info on how chocolate is prepared and we were also given a sample of hot chocolate which was fire 🔥! Then we got some nice melted chocolate to put into molding trays and topped with anything we wanted (out of the selection ofc). The molds were nice, like the Loch Ness monster, and unicorns. After we had a bunch of samples of chocolate both good and bad (the bad were not sugared and purely dark chocolate.) Also finally understood what the percentages mean on chocolate! Def worth coming.
Fantastic experience. Myself and my son age 14 both enjoyed it.
Fantastic tour and great value for money! Our guid, Al, did a phenomenal job. He was engaging and funny, and made the whole experience a great one. Im vegan and he was very clear on what I could and couldn’t have. Highly recommend!
The whole family absolutely loved it. From the moment you walk in and the amazing smell of chocolate surrounds you, the experience just keeps getting better. You learn about the journey of chocolate, get to taste different chocolates along the way, and then comes one of the best parts which is making your very own chocolate bar! It was such a fun and enjoyable activity for everyone. It’s more than just a chocolate tasting; it’s a wonderful journey that combines learning, tasting, and hands-on fun. We all enjoyed every part of it and would definitely recommend it to families visiting Edinburgh. A wonderful experience from beginning to end — and, of course, surrounded by chocolate! 🍫❤️
Excellent tasting tour. So interesting, I learnt a lot. I was worried as I have a bad back and it was a long tour. But in fact most of it was sitting down. Very enjoyable.
It was an amazing experience. Kristie’s expertise, communication style and use of humour brought a depth to this event that was memorable.
