Our guide, Veni, was very knowledgeable about Scottish history (a lot to remember), and made the tour extra interesting with photos, artwork and even sound clips of songs and poetry! She kept us going very efficiently for the 2.5 hour tour, and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. And despite the throngs of people on the Royal Mile for the Fringe Festival, she kept us all together and was careful not to lose anyone. I loved that she had a mic and we all had headphones, so we didn’t miss a word. What a superb job she did!
We had a wonderful experience on the Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle Small Group Walking Tour with Linda. She was extremely knowledgeable and informative, and she made the tour fun with her great sense of humor and jokes along the way. She kept us entertained while sharing interesting facts and stories about Edinburgh’s history. The tour was well organized, and Linda did a fantastic job making everyone feel comfortable and engaged. Visiting the Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle with such a wonderful guide made the experience even more enjoyable. We would definitely recommend this tour, especially if you’re lucky enough to have Linda as your guide!

This is a fantastic tour and we could not have had a better experience thanks to our tour guide, Linda. Linda is warm, funny, super knowledgeable and integrated each of us into the tour. The audio equipment was perfect and very much appreciated. It was great to skip the line at the castle especially in August in Edinburgh. I learned a lot about the history, architecture, and culture of Scotland.
The tour of the Royal Mile and Castle was fantastic! The guide was very knowledgeable and we found the audio equipment provided to be extremely helpful. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to learn about the history of the area.
We had a great tour. Andrea was so kind and so knowledgeable. She paced the tour well and answered any questions we had. I was not aware, at my own fault, that we would be able to self tour the castle at the end of the tour for as long as we wanted to and we had reservation plans so we were not able to stay as long as we would have liked so make sure to leave yourself enough time. It was excellent and I’m so glad we did this tour.
Linda our guide was exceptional. She was knowledgeable, funny and made the tour very interesting and exciting. We had four adults and two teenagers and we all thoroughly enjoyed it!
Linda was an amazing guide! She is funny and super knowledgeable about the city, its surroundings, and its history. We traveled during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. It is difficult to imagine a busier day in Edinburgh. Linda navigated the crowds and enabled all of us, despite our different levels of fitness, to enjoy the experience. Linda was truly brilliant! We highly recommend booking any of the Mercat Tours she is leading!
Very well done! Our guide was very good, and really knew his stuff. We very there in the middle of the Tattoo and Fringe festival so it was really heck-tick. He did a really good job keeping the group together, and made sure that the lady in our group who was on a scooter could keep up. I would DEFINITELY book another tour with this company
Our tour guide was Veni and she was very personable and knowledgeable. She only moved to Edinburgh about 7 years ago, and became immersed in her surroundings and shared her passion and excitement with us. I would highly recommend this tour with Veni.
