Otavalo marknadstur, Cayambe, Quitsato, Peguche, Cotacachi

Natur, tradition och mångfärgad marknad du kan uppleva allt detta på denna utflykt. På vår resa till Otavalo kommer vi att besöka staden Cayambe, känd för sina "bizcochos", en typ av bakat bröd som åtföljs av den så kallade "Queso de Hoja" och mjölkdelikatesser. Sedan besöker vi Quitsato solursmuseum och fortsätter tills vi når Otavalo-marknaden, där du kan se hantverk av alla slag tillverkade av de skickliga inhemska hantverkarna i området. Sedan går vi vidare tills vi når Cotacachi, en pittoresk stad känd för sin skapelse av lädervaror, här kommer vår guide att föreslå och ge nödvändig tid för lunch. Senare kommer vi att besöka Cuicocha-lagunen, som uppstod efter en vulkanisk explosion för tusentals år sedan. Efter detta besök återvänder vi till staden Quito.

På vägen gör vi ett stopp för att smaka på en traditionell smörgås, som är sockerkakor, gjorda i en lerugn och tillsammans med ost eller dulce de leche.
Quitsato Solar Clock är ett intressant platsmuseum där vi kan lära oss mer om solens uppenbara rörelser, hur årstiderna fungerar, jordbrukskalendern och olika geografiska aspekter och deras förhållande till solen.
I denna pittoreska stad känd för att ha en av de största inhemska mässorna i Latinamerika, där Otavalo-samhället visar alla sina världsberömda hantverk och tyger.
Här kommer vi att besöka en workshop med andinska instrument som urbefolkningen skickligt skapar med sina händer.
Här äter vi vår lunch och sedan hinner vi besöka lädervarubutikerna som gör denna plats känd.

A beautiful tour that allows you to see the towns and villages just over 2 hours from Quito. Many opportunities for interesting purchases and not to mention the beauty of the landscapes.
This was a wonderful tour. Juan shared so much about his country and took us to many wonderful locations. The artisanal workings of the weavers to the market to a lovely lunch recommendations were all spot on. The equator museum was fascinating and the afternoon biscuits were a wonderful treat. The driver Stephen was great as he navigated through some crazy drivers and narrow streets. My friend and I would highly recommend this tour.
We booked this tour because of the Otavalo markets but enjoyed the rest of the tour even more. Our guide Roberto gave great insight on the culture and history. The stops for food were excellent and the visit to Quitsato the Sundial Museum was fascinating as it explained the discovery and significance of the equator to the study of the globe at that time. We were comfortably driven by Carlos who stopped when requested so we could take pictures of the vista or street art. A great tour by all measures.
A pleasant day trip. Tasting the biscotti and hearing about the history was interesting. The market, was fine but being midweek was not that full and in the rain …..however we brought a few little things from the local people. We did not have that much time at the leather town as we had to head back to Quito.
We had a driver and a tour guide for our private tour. The guide was very informative and took us on several fun stops. We tasted authentic bizcochos fresh from the oven, the solar museum where we stood on the equator, a beautiful agave garden we walked through. The market inOtavalo was interesting and displayed authentic wares. All in all, very informative and just a fun day. Would definitely recommend this tour. .
The guide and the driver are really nice. They brought us to a traditional Ecuadorian restaurant. The food prices are really reasonable and tastes so good. The guinea pig and trout was excellent. The Otavalo market was fun and great shopping experience. We enjoyed the ride and the walk in the Laguna Cuicocha. Thanks for taking care of us!
