Inom Cotopaxi National Park ligger den aktiva Cotopaxi-vulkanen, en höjd av 5 897 meter över havet belägen i Anderna och en exceptionell variation av flora och faunaarter.

Avgång från Quito till Cotopaxi National Park.
Du kommer att besöka Limpiopungo lagunen, den ligger i vulkanens slussar. På denna plats kommer vi att stanna för att njuta av landskapet och ta vackra bilder av vulkanen och lagunen. Vi kommer att besöka tolkningscentret "Mariscal Sucre".
Vi kommer att göra en vandring till "José Rivas Refuge" (4864 msnm). När vi lämnar Cotopaxi nationalpark återvänder vi till Quito.

The first positive was the helpfulness to reschedule my tourto the next day, due to illness. Our guide Pamela was very helpful, knowledgeable and discerning. When she notices I had difficulty she literally held my hand and guided me. Will recommend. Please note, you do need to have some level of stamina, the cold strong wind was not for the faint of heart.

It was great! More intense of a hike than I expected, despite reading about it a bunch. But we made it and Pamela our tour guide had an awesome sense of humour and good spirits. She was great at helping us along and waiting with us as we stopped to catch our breath. Andres the driver was also great and friendly. I’ve been on some wild van and bus rides in Ecuador but Andres wasn’t like that, he was a safe driver. Would recommend this tour. Dress warm, wear sunglasses and bring a buff if you can, because the wind is intense (or it was the day I went), and it’s a dusty/sandy climb.

Cotopaxi is an amazing hike. We were picked up by Fernando our guide at 7am. The Cotopaxi National Reserve itself is pretty and it is amazing to see the ecosystem change as you climb higher. The road inside the national park is not paved so it is quite a bumpy ride. We were not so lucky to see Cotopaxi as it was covered by Clouds. Our hike proved to be a challenge as we were greeted by strong winds, hail stones sleet and freezing temperatures. The Refuge center and its hot chocolate was a welcome respite after 45 - 60 mins hike. The hike down is through ankle deep volcanic ash, making the descent equally challenging. Fernando the guide was attentive to the needs of the group. Would recommend this trip but be prepared to hike in adverse weather conditions

Vey well planned trip. They pick you up from your hotel. The tour guide Irene was well informed, amazing tour guide kept a lively atmosphere, and ensured everyone got to see what they wanted. 100% would do again. Day outline: Pickup, museum, bathroom break, the volcano, hike and enjoy, pictures, lagoon, bathroom, restaurant, relax and be driven home. Perfect 👌
This was a wonderful excursion and I highly recommend it to anyone considering a day trip to Cotopaxi! Jorge was a great guide and Jonathan a talented driver. All the stops were excellent and the entire trip was super comfortable. You don’t have to hike up to the refuge unless you want to so this is good for active hikers and the curious alike. Also, the trip included people from around the world but especially Latin America and even Ecuador — that’s how you know it’s really good!
