Välkommen till "Harry Potters födelseplats" - Du kan knappast undgå att lägga märke till den framstående sloganen ovanför ingången till Elephant House Café. Det var här JK Rowling spenderade mycket tid på att skriva den första Harry Potter-boken i, och till och med delar av den andra och den tredje.
Detta är kyrkogården som kan ses från baksidan av Elephant House Café, och den tros ha inspirerat kyrkogården till Little Hangleton i 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Lär dig historien bakom en av byggnaderna som var inspirationen från Hogwarts, trollkarlsskolan, i Harry Potters historia.
Hogwarts beskrivs också som en slottsliknande skola, belägen på toppen av en kulle, med en gigantisk sjö på ena sidan. Gissa vad, Edinburgh Castle är precis så! Lär dig historien bakom slottet och dess relation till Harry Potters Hogwarts, en annan språngbräda i historien och ett måste-besök av Edinburghs attraktioner.

Museum Context är den första Harry Potter Shop som öppnades i Edinburgh. Den här butiken är ett måste för Harry Potter-fans, med en fantastisk fotomöjlighet på tredje våningen som en extra bonus!

Detta är en del av University of Edinburgh och det är där du hittar School of Theology and Divinity. Inuti har de ett gammalt bibliotek som liknar det på Hogwarts, och de har till och med en stor sal där eleverna äter sina måltider.
Byggnaden med klocktornet tvärs över dalen är Balmoral Hotel, det dyraste hotellet i Edinburgh. Det här är också platsen där JK Rowling skrev färdigt Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Detta är uppenbarligen en stor förändring från hennes ödmjuka början av att skriva på kaféer över hela staden och betonar verkligen hur mycket Harry Potter förändrade hennes liv.

Beautiful experience with a nice tour, well explained. Only in English but easy enough to understand. We had a very pleasant time. Even though we were late, it was no problem and we were able to enjoy the experience.
It was well laid out. I could have bought only one instead of one per person. We were able to start and stop as the group needed.

A very nice visit experience! We can go at our own pace and do it even in several steps if we wish. Ideal when you like to visit freely, the experience allows you to take a fairly extensive tour of the old town. Voice feedback and explanations on the app are very clear, interesting and well documented. A very good idea to have designed this self-guided tour!

Loved the fact that I could take this tour at my own pace, gave me time to get a coffee when I wanted and look in shops. Two small complaints-the order seems a little chaotic definitely some back and forth whereas it would have been easier to do what’s closer to each other. Second one, if there’s a way to include a map or something at the cemetery-I wasted way too much time trying to find all the stones and still never found all of them. Otherwise I enjoyed it.

It was awesome to be able to wander the streets of Edinburgh and get the bonus addition of all the Harry Potter related facts. We could take our time and detour when we wanted to and pick it back up after. Exactly what we wanted.

Fantastic tour covering all of the city! Saw everything I wanted and more, but the best part was our tour guide, Adam! He is funny, enthusiastic, and he made the whole thing exciting! One of the best tours I’ve been on in the UK and Adam was a huge part of that!

This tour takes you to all the wonderful Harry Potter inspired spots. It has a brief summary at each location followed by directions to the next. However, I would definitely recommend starting at point one as that is where the directions are written from. We tried to do a few out of order and it was very difficult finding certain spots due to the spotty GPS thru Edinburgh. Also the Elephant Shop was under construction and they had a temporary one on Victoria Street. We were not able to go in because it had 45min wait. The tour itself was informative and could be stop and started if you want to go into a shop or spot along the way.

Interesting narration, easy to follow directions. App worked well. Especially liked the cemetery. Wish it included the other Hogwarts school building that served as inspiration but it might be too far away. 👍
