Längs Andesfjällen kan vi hitta Cotopaxi National Park fylld med en enastående mängd flora och faunaarter. Det är också hem för den aktiva vulkanen Cotopaxi (5 897 meter över havet). Limpiopungo lagunen ligger vid foten av vulkanen och här kan man njuta av utsikten över den andinska Paramo och ta otroliga bilder av lagunen och vulkanen.

På gränsen till provinsen Pichincha finns Cotopaxi National Park, en ekologisk reserv som kombinerar landskapet i den andinska páramo, vulkaniska marken och lagunen som kommer från de snötäckta bergen. Dess främsta attraktion är vulkanen som bär sitt namn, vilket på spanska betyder "månehals" givet på grund av kraterets koniska form. Höjden av vulkanen är 5 897 meter över havet och är näst högsta i landet. Besökare kan upptäcka olika arter av växter och djur som: vargar, kaniner, björnar, kondorer och bland andra som bor i det territoriet. Besök tolkcentret: All information om Cotopaxi National Park är tillgänglig på tolkningscentret, eller bättre känt som parkmuseet. Centret har showroom, en souvenirbutik och en kafé. Den är belägen inuti Mariscal Sucre Station (eller Control Caspi entré). Gå till José Rivas Refuge (4864 Masl): Sedan 70-talet har denna tillflykt varit en välkomnande plats för professionella bergsklättrare och amatörer som besöker Cotopaxi-vulkanen. Dess namn är till hedersprästen José Ribas som byggde den med Bergsklättringsklubben i San Gabriel High School. Denna plats ligger på vulkanens sluttningar och en timmes promenad från parkeringsplatsen.

This tour was super interesting, informative and fun! Daniel Santamaria was our guide and he was excellent! He made sure we were safe, on-time for all our activities, very respectful and professional but also friendly. Daniel took beautiful group and individual pictures on request. Overall ensured we had the best experience all day! The bus was on-time to pick us up. Javier was our driver and he was so good. My daughter and I made unforgettable memories and we recommend this tour 100%
Our tour guide, Veronica, was awesome and made our adventure to Cotopaxi a great experience from start to finish. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and always willing to help or answer questions along the way. I was even picked up about 10 minutes early, which set the tone for a smooth and well-organized day. Everything went according to plan, and the entire experience exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended for anyone looking to visit Cotopaxi!
We had such a great day from start to finish! The pick up was easy and well organised and Daniel our guide was fantastic and so knowledgeable about the national park. We had spectacular views! Would definitely recommend!
Liz was an amazing guide. She kept us motivated during a challenging trek to the Cotopaxi base camp. Overall, the day was full of fun and excitement. Everyone should prepare themselves for the wind!

We had an absolutely wonderful experience. The Cotopaxi tour is so beautiful, and the hike is a once in a lifetime experience. Liz is the best guide ever! She was incredibly informative and attentive to everything we needed. She was always smiling and ready to help. Would definitely recommend!
Give advice to weather for the day
This was a wonderful tour and Jorge a very knowledgeable and capable guide. He made the tour group feel like a family in which we all watched out for each other - which makes a difference when one is traveling solo! The hike up to El refugio on Cotopaxi was quick and interesting.. we didn't luck out with views at the top but we did get a glimpse of Cotopaxi's peak from the lagoon beforehand, so it wasn't a big deal. We all just enjoyed the hike and the coca tea at the top! Note: be sure to bring warm clothes, as it can get very windy and chilly at 16,000 feet!
Liz was a great tour guide. She was not only helpful with information but she was very caring and gave great advice and helped us deal with the altitude. I would highly recommend this tour. It was a full day and we learnt so much from the information she gave.
