Vår tur låter dig utforska Cotopaxi nationalpark säkert och bekvämt med stöd av en lokal bergs Guide som följer med på upplevelsen inne i parken. Du kommer att resa med 4x4 fordon till José Rivas Refuge, som ligger högt upp på vulkanens sluttningar, där du kan njuta av hisnande vyer och uppleva promenader på hög höjd. Turen inkluderar också besök i Limpiopungo Lagoon och Tolkcentret, där du kan lära dig mer om parkens geologi, djurliv och historia. Din chaufför hämtar dig från ditt hotell eller boende i Quito. Därifrån reser vi söderut längs Pan-American Highway, även känd som den berömda Avenue of the Volcanoes, och njuter av vacker utsikt över det andinska landskapet när vi beger oss mot Cotopaxi National Park.
Vid ankomsten till entrén till Cotopaxi nationalpark, kommer du att träffa en certifierad lokal Guide, som krävs för besök inne i de skyddade områdena i parken. Härifrån fortsätter upplevelsen i ett 4x4-fordon, vilket ger tillgång till de högre områdena i parken. Det första stoppet är parkeringsplatsen nedanför José Ribas Refuge, som ligger på cirka 4 800 meters höjd över havet. Resenärer kan ta en kort vandring mot tillflykten och njuta av spektakulär utsikt över glaciären och omgivande vulkaniska landskap. På vägen ner fortsätter vi till Limpiopungo Lagoon, en vacker höghöjdssjö där besökare kan observera vilda hästar, andinska fåglar och det unika páramo ekosystemet. Vi besöker också Cotopaxi Tolkning Center, där resenärer kan lära sig mer om geologi, djurliv och historia i nationalparken.
Efter att ha lämnat parken föreslår vi ett valfritt stopp för lunch på den traditionella restaurangen El Rondador, som ligger nära vulkanen, där resenärer kan njuta av lokala ecuadorianska rätter och koppla av innan de återvänder till Quito.

Jorge the tour guide and Marcelo the driver took great care of us and ensure that our group of 6 wee able to make it to the Refige despite the challenging weather of intermittent rain and very windy conditions
What an awesome experience! Jorge was absolutely phenomenal. He was very kind and patient, and told me a lot about the history of Ecuador and the surrounding area. His English was excellent! My guide, Jessica, was also phenomenal. I am not fluent in Spanish, but I was able to converse with her some. She was also very kind and knowledgeable of the area. After the hike and visit to the lagoon, Jorge took me to a local Ecuadorian restaurant. The food was amazing! You are truly able to get a taste of the local culture there. As an added bonus, you can feed and pet some llamas they have behind the restaurant. I would definitely book this experience again!

I cant explain how amazing this adventure was. The original reason for our presence was a wedding. But, I learned so much during the week i was here. From airport service to volcano to Historic Center. The guides were more than knowledgable (Jorge, Alejandro and Alex) all were amazing! Great english and quick to make us feel comfortable through the vibe of the city. The cost was minimal and definitely affordable to the point i want to do it again. There was not a problem navigating through the people as it was not too crowded. They are the best for teaching you about the country while here. I loved the Basilicas and the Mountains both. Did 2 days with Jorge! First day we did an 100% customized Trip to Mindo Cloud Forest - We enjoyed it so much, that we chose to book another day with him after an 1week stay at Galapagos. We wanted to have something „special“ as it was my wife’s Birthday! So we gave Jorge some information on what she enjoys to see and he planned the trip. And what to say, it was absolutely outstanding! We so much enjoyed being with him, he was able to give us a huge amount of information about the destinations we visited as well as the Country, City, People and History… it was by far the best tour we ever booked and it was worth every second we had with him! The two of us visited Lake Limpiopungo and had a lovely hike in the area with a very friendly local guide. There is also the option to hike all the way to José Rivas refuge at 4.864 meters, but we did not do so because we had not acclimatized to the altitude enough. Instead, we visited a nearby town and a bit of Quito that we had not seen yet. Overall, Jorge, the owner is very flexible, punctual and drives carefully. This private tour was about $60 more expensive than a group tour for 2 people, but the freedom and flexibility makes up for it. Recommended!
Jose was the best driver in Ecuador we had! While bringing us from A to B he explained a lot interesting Things about his country and the people and we learned so much. Beside this he is really friendly and gently! Thanks Jose!
We used Jorge for several trips over 3 weeks. He was always on time, the vehicle was very clean, the driver was very careful, and he was thoughtful and courteous. His knowledge of the area was an added bonus to the trip. In the future, we will certainly use his services again.
