Wine & Food Tour

We had a great day. It was so much more than a tour of the island. It was an experience into the culture of Pico and the Azores. The guide (and owner) is so accommodating. He even arranged for us to visit with local village volunteers to see them preparing the food for the community feast the next day. We had a leisurely lunch at a local neighborhood restaurant with plentiful and delicious food and wine.

Philipe is the best guide on Pico island, his wine was amazing, he introduce us how it made and he showed us the local cusine and spirits too, highly recommend it anyone who wants to experience Pico!

This was a fantastic day you don’t want to miss with Phillip! This is not just a wine experience it’s a whole cultural experience that was over the top! To learn how locals needed to learn to make wine with all of the elements in Pico was such a leaning experience! Going thru the vineyards an how they used the volcanic rocks to build walls must have takes years an years! You can see the walls for miles! The wine was very good but to get the true cultural experience Phillip bought us to his mom’s vacation home where his Portuguese neighbor cooked us a traditional meal that was so unexpected and over the top delicious! Would absolutely recommend this tour if you are interested in learning more about how the vines are grown in the harsh environment and experience the traditional foods of Portugal! I would do it again! On top of that right out the door is a beautiful view of Pico Mountain!🇵🇹❤️🇵🇹

Perfectly wonderful education on food, wine and the culture of Pico island. Whether you know a little or a lot about wine, this is a fascinating tour.

Gabriel was the best host. He made sure we had a tailor made experience. His knowledge of the island of Pico and it's residents is impressive. The food, the liquor, the wine, but most of all the personal touch made it a very special day indeed. We will be back for more!

We had a wonderful day with our tour guide Filipe. He told us so much interesting and gave us a great experience with his affable nature. Also the stops during the tour and the opportunity for small walks were great. The tasting of wine and spirits was successful; the place of wine tasting by the sea is unique. Lunch was a feast for the palate; we could taste a variety of local dishes. Delicious!! The tour is worth its money. I'd love to come back!

What a great tour! The wines and food were excellent. Phillipe took great care to insure we knew all about the history of the area and its winemaking. We recommend this experience strongly!

This tour is a must! Felipe and Mr. Castro were very informative about the island, wine and food. The food was authentic and delicious.

We had such a great time on our tour! Phillip our guide was very welcoming and knowledgeable about the island and the vineyards. He added some fun facts about the plants in the area and how they also affect the vineyards. We had a small group of 6 and it was fun to meet new people. We really enjoyed meeting the creators of the islands best wines and liquors/brandy. You can really feel the passion they bring to the art of producing fine spirits! Our stop for lunch included more than expected and was delicious! This was one of the highlights of our trip to the Azores and Pico island. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants some great company, local knowledge and delicious drinks and food!

This tour was among the best we have ever taken. The tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable about everything on the island. The distillery, the restaurant (wonderful food and wine and plenty of it), and the winery were all outstanding, but most importantly they were local businesses people. Everyone we met was kind and friendly. We visited many unique and beautiful places on our eight hour tour and enjoyed every moment.
