Bereid je voor op een rit door het paradijs! Deze tour neemt je mee door de mooiste, spannendste delen van Kauai. Ontdek het allerbeste dat dit eiland te bieden heeft vanuit het comfort van uw auto of een huurauto. OPMERKING : De tour is meer dan 35 + mijl lang, met meer dan 60 + audio verhalen, en duurt ongeveer 2 - 3 uur te voltooien. Nieuw, Levenslang toegang, geen vervaldatum. Gebruik het altijd, op elke reis, zo vaak als je wilt.
Je eerste stop is Kalapaki, de thuisbasis van een ongerept wit strand en wat onmogelijk kalm water, dankzij een zeewering die de golven op afstand houdt.
Krijg een dosis Hawaïaanse geschiedenis bij de Sugarcane & Grove Farm, waar je leert hoe deze contante oogst de loop van de toekomst van Hawaï voor altijd heeft veranderd.
Je hoeft niet lang te wachten om wat van Kauai's kenmerkende jungle-schoonheid te ervaren. De "Tree Tunnel" is een kilometerslange tunnel van eucalyptusbomen die zorgen voor een serieus pittoresk rijden.
Krijg een kijkje in het verleden in Old Koloa Town, een schilderachtig dorpje dat dateert uit de tijd van de suikerplantages.
Degenen die meer willen weten over de suikergeschiedenis van Hawaï, kunnen vervolgens een omweg maken naar een oude suikermolen.
Waarom genoegen nemen met één strand als je er twee op één plek kunt hebben? Poipu Beach bestaat uit twee zandige halve manen die een dubbel strand vormen en is een perfecte plek om te zwemmen, snorkelen en nog veel meer.
Als je verder gaat, bereik je de Hanapepe Valley Lookout. Vergeet niet een camera mee te nemen als je deze prachtige uitzichten gaat bekijken!
In het plaatsje Hanapepe kom je de Hanapepe Swinging Bridge tegen. Deze leuke attractie lijkt misschien onstabiel als het weer winderig wordt, maar maak je geen zorgen, het zou eigenlijk net zo veel moeten zwaaien als het doet!
Hierna volgt een werkelijk vreemd historisch monument: een Russisch fort dat is overgebleven van een mislukte invasiepoging! Leer het verhaal erachter kennen terwijl je dit eigenaardige stukje geschiedenis verkent.
Je passeert dan Niihau, ook wel bekend als The Forbidden Island. Dit privé-eiland is al generaties lang verboden voor bezoekers.
Je route voert je vervolgens langs een ongewone attractie, de Red Dirt-waterval. Deze waterval is precies hoe het klinkt; het krijgt zijn rode kleur door een hoge concentratie ijzer in de bodem.
De Kukui Trail, de volgende, is een geweldige optie voor ervaren wandelaars, terwijl degenen die op zoek zijn naar een gemakkelijkere tocht, dol zullen zijn op de Iliau Nature Loop. Beide zijn geweldige manieren om beter kennis te maken met het prachtige natuurlijke landschap van Kauai.
Je route leidt langs de zogenaamde "Grand Canyon of the Pacific": Waimea Canyon. Als er iets op deze reis een absolute must-see is, is dit dit wel. Je gelooft echt je ogen niet!
Voor de beste blik op de Waimea Canyon gaat u naar de Pu'u Hinahina Lookout. Hier krijg je de kans om enkele foto's te maken die je vrienden gegarandeerd jaloers maken!
Als je echt de kloof zelf in wilt trekken, kom je naast de Waimea Canyon Trails, die ongelooflijke wandelingen bieden voor alle ervaringsniveaus - evenals tal van extra uitzichtpunten!
Wil je wat souvenirs en een beetje extra educatie? Bekijk het Koke'e Natural History Museum, een gratis museum gewijd aan de flora en fauna van het eiland.
Het volgende is Koke'e State Park, een essentiële stop als je geen genoeg hebt van wandelen en het ruiken van wilde bloemen.
Een van de laatste uitkijkposten tijdens je tour is de Kalalau Lookout, die een spectaculair uitzicht biedt vanaf het hoogste punt dat over de weg op het hele eiland bereikbaar is.
Het volgende is het Na Pali Coast State Wilderness Park, met dramatische kliffen en beukende golven. Geen wonder dat Hollywood dit meer dan eens als filmlocatie heeft gebruikt, onder meer voor een van de Jurassic Park-films!
Eindelijk kom je bij een laatste vergezicht: Pu'u O Kila Lookout. De tour eindigt bij dit prachtige uitzicht.

We used this self drive guide in Kauai. It was good and sent us in the right directions. It also gave some history on the island. Overall it was good

We purchased the tour that took us through Poipu and Kaloa area. We had 4 hours to fill and this was absolutely perfect! We loved the places they guided us to, the history and information behind the sites and the stories shared between locations. It was great to be able to go at our own pace and go back and listen to it again if we wanted to. The GPS guide was perfect. Great way to get to know the island and some of its history! Would totally do it again!

It is great once you’re able to figure out how to use it! We really enjoyed it how we it took almost an hour to figure it out- make sure you download it and get it working before you leave your WiFi. Customer service is great however they are only there until 6:00pm EST if you’re in a different time zone beware.

Very easy to follow. Interesting history lessons along the way. Especially liked stories about movies and tv show film sites. It was fun to see the Gillian’s Island set.

This download app worked well for our purposes. Be sure to begin at the starting point. You cannot start in the middle of the tour. Also, you have to check your driving speed so the narrator does not cut off before he is finished talking. Two programs downloaded, but I could only figure out how to use one. The narrator was interesting with good stories, sidelines, facts and island history. It was just the right length. We really enjoyed it !!

Tour was good, very informative. Was a little painful to start is Lihue only, when we were staying in Princeville. Would have been nice to have an option to start the tour in Princeville. Waimea Canyon and the park were fabulous, and the tour did a good job of directing us thru it. A few things could be updated on the tour, but overall, we loved it. Never would have found the secret beach! Never would have gone to Hanalei either.
