Gasten die met een cruiseschip in de stad aankomen, worden door ons in de haven opgehaald. Ook gasten die in hotels verblijven, worden in de lobby opgehaald. AMBER COVE: Bij aankomst in de haven gaat u naar het taxigebied. Uw chauffeur zal in de haven op u wachten. TAINO BAAI: Bij aankomst in de haven gaat u naar de taxistandplaats, net voorbij de Lazy River. Uw chauffeur staat daar op u te wachten.

Henry was a great guide and excellent driver. However the tour was NOT as advertised. We went on the tour to try local food and delicacies. We stopped at a mango farm which was nice and people were friendly, but very touristy and not a place locals go. Lunch was a disappointment. He stopped at an amber museum, where we wouldn't get out of the car as it was not what we wanted or expected. After that he wanted to take us on a city tour. We definitely were not interested. This was supposed to be a FOOD tour. We had to ask him to stop at a fruit and vegetable market, but we were uncomfortable walking around there. We asked to get some street empanadas, which he did stop at. Never received sweets or went to places the locals shop. We are intensely disappointment and felt it was a waste of money. Since we live here, we were hoping to get some insights and new places to go to.

Based on our review, your guide visited the locations included in the itinerary and also accommodated additional requests during the tour, including a stop at the local fruit and vegetable market and a stop for empanadas. The only planned stop that was not completed was a local sweets location, as the tour concluded after you expressed a desire to return to your accommodation. We understand that the local market may not have been the experience you were hoping for. However, it is one of the places where local residents regularly purchase fresh produce and other food items, which is why it is sometimes included for guests seeking a more authentic local perspective. Amazing experience! I highly recommend! Elian was one of the best tour guides I have ever had. He was prompt, courteous and extremely insightful. This was a multi-generational ship excursion and it was just perfect. We visited 3 food spots, rum distillery and he took us to a few spots for amazing pics. Our Host Joseph was the greatest and so kind. He was also very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of detals about the destination. We had such yummy food including Chicharon, fresh fruit,hot chocolate, coffe, tea, and an authentic DR breakfast plus ice cream! This is an absolute must do.

Our guide, Jose, was wonderful. He was very informative, open to questions and very funny. We were able to tour multiple areas on the island, and got some amazing photos. Oh, and by the way the food was great and there was plenty of it.. We would most assuredly do this one again.

We had the most beautiful experience on our food tour with locals in Puerto Plata 💛 Our guide, Kelvin Ventura, was truly amazing. He welcomed us like family and even took us to his own family farm where we learned about different mango trees, bananas, plantains, and so many herbs with medicinal uses (which you already know I loved 🌿). We even got to taste chocolate water straight from the plant — such a unique experience! I wasn’t feeling my best that day, and when we mentioned it, Kelvin thoughtfully adjusted the tour just for us. He took us for Dominican ice cream, authentic Dominican food, and showed us Pink Street and Umbrella Street. He's a great photographer by the way😉He even went out of his way to get me a remedy for my upset stomach, and surprised me with a little birthday gift since we were celebrating my birthday 🥹 Before we left, he gifted us two desserts specially made by his wife, @nanacakepop, and they were absolutely delicious 👏🏽 This was a heartfelt cultural experience. Highly recommend, and we will definitely be back!

Shame on me for taking so long to write this review! Thie was the absolute best food tour we have ever been on and if we're saying this you have to understand that food tours are our thing. We have been on numerous one to include four during this one trip alone. We took a cruise so that's why we had so many booked at multiple locations. Anyway let me get to trying to explain the vast amounts of reasons why this tour was incredible. If you don't have time to read all of this I completely understand so bottom line up front, book it now!!! You won't regret it! We arrived at the cruise port and then had to walk through the area to get to the part where our tour guide Mercado was waiting for us. They gave us all the information for where to meet ahead of time so screenshot it when you get it because the internet was spotty for us and it caused us to be a little late. Mercado was patiently waiting for us and he met us with a big smile and a great attitude and said he hoped we were ready because he was going to be with us all day and we were gonna go to the spots that he like to go to. I don't want to spoil everything you're gonna get to do but this angel of a man took us to at least 7 different spots and the first one was his friend's grandmother's house for a fresh pot of coffee! If you're looking for something that isn't just full of all of the normal touristy stuff I'm telling you this is the one! By the time we were done, we had been with him for about 6 hours and we were stuffed. The spots were off the beaten path and the food was authentic and delicious. We also received history about the area and an understanding of when the locals would be eating the food we were trying. I wish I could capture the experience with words but I just can't. You have to book it to experience it. OMG the stop with the full blocks of cheese on the side of the road....the El Presidentes in the car while we traveled from spot to spot.....the hidden Empanada restaurant.....the chicharones! (i know that isn't spelled right) Take me back there please! If you're a foodie but don't like the normal, everyone and their mom, long lines, and rushed feelings of some food tours, book this one! Lastly a huge thank you to Mercado for showing me and my partner such an incredible time. We had so much fun and tell everone about it even months later. Simply the best and oh don't forget the bug repellent - that was our major mistake - the mosquitos tore us up but that lets you know the tour was freaking good because even though we got bit up, we still give this tour an 11 out of 10, highly recommend!!

Best tour experience ever!!!! Juan was an excellent tour guide. We saw the countryside and the city and forts, ate a typical Dominican meal at a locals location and tasted fruits from the countryside. Plenty of opportunities for photos, even with wildlife, and plenty of opportunities for shopping and souvenirs. Had a great conversation with Juan about MLB and it's stars of Dominican decent. Would highly recommend him as a tour guide.
