De meeste mensen kennen een themapark geïnspireerd op één beroemde muis. Maar een gewijd aan apen? In Monkeyland, een natuurlijke habitat diep in de jungle van de Dominicaanse Republiek en de thuisbasis van doodshoofdaapjes. Tijdens deze 5,5 uur durende rondleiding verken je ook de botanische tuin van de habitat, evenals een koffie- en cacaoplantage. Praat met lokale boeren, leer over hun biologische methoden en proef tropisch fruit dat net van een boom is geplukt. Hotelvervoer vanaf Punta Cana en Bavaro is inbegrepen.

Eddy and Colporang were the BEST tour guides! You can really feel the passion they have for their jobs and they really made us feel like family the whole trip. Eddy’s knowledge was second to none and after having our island tour trip cancelled (earlier in the week by a different company), this more than made up for it! The local produce from the plantations is also amazing and I definitely would urge anyone to buy from there as the quality is amazing, and it’s also great to give back and support the plantation workers.The staff at Monkeyland were amazing too and you can really tell they love and care for the monkeys well.

The monkeys were the highlight of our entire week. Tour guide was amazing. I just wish the cocoa/coffee/coconut oil part was a lot shorter. My young kids didn’t love that part and is a long day.

Pick up time was fine, bus was also nice and cool. Unfortunately our drive from hotel to monkeyland took over 2 hours. Have had a lot of waiting time people who had to be changed buses. Once arrived first had the cocoa and coffee workshop, fine workshop, afterwards you could buy stuff very pricey, drink and eat also (more expensive than in the Netherlands) With the monkeys you are +- 30 minutes, you get a few seconds to feed the monkeys. A lot of focus on big families and taking lots of pictures of them. Photos also very pricey. Excursion indicates that it takes 5 hours but it took a total of about 7 hours.

The Best Excursion you could do! Our guide Monchie was very helpful and nice. The people who showed us the coffee/chocolate process were also so friendly and informative. Plus we got free samples so that’s always a win lol Once we got to actually doing the monkeys that’s when the real fun began we had plenty of time with the monkeys and they were all over us. Ruddy and (I believe his name was) Ronnie were amazing you can tell they care a lot about the monkeys. We done a couple of excursions and this is a definite redo. I’d recommend it time and time again.
