Stonehenge Shuttlebus vanuit Londen met Fish & Chips

The site was incredible. The history and the accomplishments. The bus ride was over theee hours each way Not sure I’d do that again for a half hour visit. Driver was professional and courteous but long ride each way.

The afternoon tour did not disclose the fact that the Stonehedge site close at 4:30, the cafe close at 5, and the exhibition also close early. No one told us about the 4:30 closure time. The stuff at the site basically told us we need to leave because the site is about to close. The tour said we have 2.5 hours at the site but in reality it is about 1 hour. Since the tour starts at 1:15, by the time we get there was around 3:2p. You still need to take a shuttle to the site. If you stop by the rest room or get some coffee before heading to the site. We end up seeing the site for less than an hour, the exhibition was closed by then, and we were the last couple that were able to get a cup of coffee before they close. The only thing that stayed open was the gift shop. So there is no point telling us we have 2.5 hours there when in reality, it was only 1 to 1.5 hours. If the description had these kind of detail, we were not pick these time or tour.

I took the 1:30 tour to Stonehenge. it was a comfortable coach bus with good air-conditioning/heat and comfortable seats. There were no Wi-Fi on board or charging outlets FYI. The drive was approximately two hours, we left a little late getting there at 3:45. Upon arriving, you walk down a hill past a set of bathrooms and have an optional shuttle bus to the stones. You can also walk, but I would guess that it’s about a little over a mile each way. When we arrived, the shuttle bus driver told us that the last shuttle bus leaves the stones at 4:30. I took a leisurely walk up the hill and around the stones and that measured about 3/4 of a mile. The stones are roped off and you were unable to get near them, but there are plenty of opportunities for wonderful pictures and selfies. It was truly an amazing sight to finally see. I jumped back on the bus to get back to the meeting point, and you exit the bus and walk through a gift shop. Gift shop was great. There were a lot of souvenirs to take home. After that, there was a small café to get pasties, coffee, and some other sandwiches. Not sure where the fish and chips were that they discussed on the description of the tour. Our driver asked us to return at 6:30. I was back at the café at five and had plenty of time to sit at the tables, relax and have a little bit of food and coffee. Almost everyone arrived back at the bus early because it was a little chilly and we were able to leave by 6:15. our driver, Xavier, was excellent and navigated the London traffic expertly and got us safely back to London. I didn’t notice until after the fact that there was a QR code on our admission bracelet for an audio tour. I wish I would’ve seen that. I highly recommend this tour as it is a must see if you have the time.

The bus driver was very nice and pleasant and drove great. However, the bus bathroom did not work, some seats were broken and would not stay upright, only reclined, and the seat belt was excessively stiff. The guide, James, was great, very friendly, telling very interesting things and very willing to take photos if you ask him. It is a shame that it is not in Spanish. Only in the Roman Baths did we have an audio guide in Spanish and the visit to Lacock was a blink-and-you-miss-it experience. In short, it was good because Bath is great and Stonehenge is a million out of ten.

Totally worth the price of admission. Tour guide had a ton of great tips and stories to share. The length of the visit was great.

Left the Station about 1:15. It took over 3 hours to get to Stonehenge. It is about 2 miles from the visitor center to the stones. The Staff closes access to stones at 5:30. We had about 15 minutes to view. Visitor center closes at 6:00. Bus left at 6:50. We opted to get fish and chips at end. The kitchen at the pub closes at 9:00. We arrived at the pub shortly before 9:00, just in time to be served. The food was good. Not sure how much time is alloted for earlier tours, but there is not enough time on the afternoon tour to walk around the stones let alone tour the grounds.

Literally this is just a bus ride to and from Stonehenge. There is no tour on the way there or back, no assistance while you are there. Just a bus ride. But Stonehenge was nice

VERY long and a REALLY uncomfortable bus ride from London. Cafe on the site of Stonehenge is not clean and it closes long before the site itself is empty of visitors. Otherwise very well set up and an enjoyable experience.
