Deze 3 uur durende wandeltocht verkent de negen hectare van Princeville Botanical Gardens en omvat een 50 minuten durende gastronomische chocoladeproeverij. Je proeft chocolade uit de hele wereld, ten noorden en zuiden van de evenaar. Je ziet onze heilige cacaoboomgaard en leert over de geschiedenis van cacao en hoe chocolade wordt verwerkt terwijl je onze eigen heerlijke chocolade proeft. Uw deskundige gidsen zullen verhalen vertellen over de ontwikkeling van de tuinen, evenals een schat aan fascinerende informatie over de planten, chocolade en de Hawaïaanse eilanden. U proeft seizoensgebonden fruitmonsters, onze tropische honing in de tuin en een verscheidenheid aan chocolade om uw energie op peil te houden terwijl u onze valleien verkent. Dit is een chocolade en tuin ervaring in tegenstelling tot alle andere op Kauai. LET OP: Als u of iemand in uw groep de afgelopen dagen ziek is geweest of positief is getest op COVID, bezoek dan NIET de tuinen totdat iedereen voorbij de stadia van verspreiding van infectie is. Begin de tour met het verkennen van de bovenste terrassen en het gebruik van de planten die in Waimea Valley leven. Vind exotische bloemen, zeldzame medicijnen, vrolijke honingbijenkorven en op de bodem van de vallei gedijt een kleine cacaoboomgaard. Proef hier wat rauwe chocoladenibs en leer hoe chocolade wordt verbouwd en geoogst. Als je de vallei verlaat, ga dan naar onze chocoladeproeverij in de buitenlucht, waar je meer te weten komt over moderne en historische chocoladeverwerkingsmethoden. Je proeft minstens 5 verschillende single-origin chocolaatjes van over de hele wereld. Na ontspannen in de schaduw en genieten van de chocolade, staat u weer op de been om onze Anini Creek-vallei te verkennen, een ander wonderland van zeldzame planten, verbluffende topografie en fascinerende duurzame teelttechnieken.

Fun and interesting for the whole family! The guides truly love what they are teaching about chocolate and the fauna on Kaua'i.
The property is absolutely stunning and the tour guides were so knowledgeable. They provided bug spray, clean bathrooms to use and walking sticks. The chocolate tasting was informative and of course delicious, as were the different fruits and honey you tasted along the tour. It really gave us such a unique way to appreciate plant life and our use of different plants.
Fun to walk around and see plants from all over the world. Nice activity for a day trip. Really enjoyed the chocolate specifically from the garden and trying all kind of different fruits as we walked.
I went with my husband and family. It was very informative, the chocolate and fruits were delicious!! The gardens were beautiful!! The walk was somewhat challenging for me (I have a physical disability - stroke) but I would think for an able bodied individual it would be fairly easy.

Great tour! Zoey was our guide. Very knowledgeable. Walked at a brisk pace. Most tours are too short, the 3 hours was just right. In addition to chocolate history, processing and tasting, there was also a little honey and coconut tasting too. A wonderful experience. A beautiful location. Very well organized, from the welcome and parking to the Goodbye.

This is an outstanding botanical experience in an absolutely tropical setting! This collection is not limited to native species- it is truly a global experience. The hosts and the orators were very knowledgeable of the grounds and the subject material. Highly recommend!!

This is the next thing closest to Heaven in my opinion! Starting off, the lush area where the Princeville Botanical Gardens are located is perfection! The rolling hills and the quiet surroundings is a perfect spot for such a place. Upon pulling on to the property, we were greeted by friendly staff. And then we were introduced to our amazing guide, Troy. His knowledge and humor kept all of us interested in each tree; each leaf; each berry; each plant; even each chicken! I highly recommend booking the tour with delicious treats or chocolate to taste and then purchase if we wanted. I promise you, I’ll book another tour if and when I ever make it back to Kauai!
