Onze eerste proeverij brengt ons naar een van Parma’s oudste salumeries, waar u een zorgvuldig geselecteerd assortiment van de meest iconische vleeswaren uit de regio proeft. Van Prosciutto di Parma tot andere traditionele salumi, elke hap vertelt het verhaal van lokaal vakmanschap en aloude technieken, allemaal perfect gecombineerd met een verfrissende lokale wijn.
Terwijl we verder wandelen, gaan we richting een van de meest iconische bezienswaardigheden van de stad, het Palazzo della Pilotta, een enorm historisch complex dat Parma's verleden als belangrijke hertogelijke hoofdstad weerspiegelt. Onderweg stoppen we bij een authentieke kaaswinkel om de koning van de Italiaanse kazen te proeven : Parmigiano Reggiano. Hier leert u wat dit product zo uniek maakt terwijl u verschillende oude variëteiten proeft.
Vervolgens bezoeken we een lokale bakkerij om een van de meest geliefde hartige specialiteiten van de regio te proeven. Bij Panetteria Anna genieten we van een heerlijke reep erbazzone, een traditioneel gebakken gebak gevuld met groenten, kaas en kruiden dat het dagelijkse comfort food van Emilia-Romagna vertegenwoordigt.
Wandelend over Piazza Garibaldi, het centrale plein van de stad en het hart van het openbare leven, stoppen we bij een van Parma’s meest traditionele salumeria-restaurants. Hier kunt u genieten van een proeverij van vers handgemaakte pasta, een echt symbool van de lokale keuken, bereid volgens aloude recepten die generaties lang zijn doorgegeven.

We booked our tour online. First - very easy to book, and any inquiries were answered promptly, very precise instructions and links for additional help. Our guide Samantha was exceptional. Samantha was pleasant, bilingual and most of all very knowledgeable of Parma & surrounding areas. The pace of tour was awesome, a real taste of the culture, I even endeavoured in the secret dish, which I will leave for you when you book! One piece of advice - comfy shoes, check the weather and dress appropriately( personally I love the heat) and most of all come with an appetite - guarantee you will not be disappointed.
