Bij aankomst bij het Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center heeft u twee uur de tijd om dit verbluffende natuurwonder te verkennen. Hier kunt u ervoor kiezen om over paden te wandelen, de gletsjer van een afstand te fotograferen of het Visitor's Center te verkennen. Met verschillende wandelpaden beschikbaar, kunnen bezoekers van alle fitnessniveaus genieten van een spectaculair uitzicht op de gletsjer, Mendenhall Lake en de ongerepte wildernis. Toegang tot het Visitor's Center is inbegrepen, waar u kunt genieten van interactieve tentoonstellingen en educatieve presentaties.

OPTIONEEL. U heeft in totaal 2 uur de tijd om de gletsjer op eigen gelegenheid te verkennen. Toegangsprijzen voor het bezoekerscentrum zijn inbegrepen in de prijs van uw ticket, waar u kunt genieten van interactieve tentoonstellingen en educatieve presentaties die een dieper inzicht bieden in de geologische betekenis van de gletsjer en het omliggende ecosysteem.

U kunt Nugget Falls zien vanaf de parkeerplaats en het bezoekerscentrum, maar ALS u ervoor kiest om naar Nugget Falls te wandelen, duurt het 45-60 minuten heen en terug om te wandelen. Als u van plan bent om naar de watervallen te wandelen, doe dit dan eerst om ervoor te zorgen dat u uw terugreisbus niet mist.

Save yourself a ton of money and get a cab or uber to see this glacier. You can walk to the falls near the glacier, get some pictures and head back.
Kenny was one of the best guides I’ve ever met. He drove us to the glacier and back to the cruise ship; even though the ride was short, he kept us entertained the entire way with his humor and easygoing personality. I truly admire his attitude and the way he connects with people.
We used M&M to get a bus to Mendenhall and back from our cruise’s dock. Our driver was Aidan and he was friendly, engaging, informative, and fun. The 2.5 hr excursion left us plenty of time to walk around downtown Juneau. The coach-style bus was comfortable and cool.
Glacier was beautiful, as was the walk to the falls. We saw a couple of porcupines on that hike. We saw lots of bald eagles on the drive there and back.
Excellent excursion for cruisers. Meeting point is located right at the docks and very easy to find. Bus was comfortable and our guide, Archie, was knowledgeable and entertaining! The timing of the excursion was perfect leaving us plenty of time to explore the park and get back to the downtown to before having to get back on our ship.
It's a beautiful place to visit. It takes your breath away. Seeing the glacier and waterfalls was a sightseeing treasure.
Kenny was an entertaining and informative tour guide. After arriving, we had two hours to view the Glacier, walk to the waterfall and go to the visitor center. The walk to the waterfall is about a mile but it was incredible.
We had a very cool busdriver. She was so funny and gave us a lot of information.
My husband and I enjoyed the bus ride to and from Mendenhall glacier and nugget falls. The driver was very informative and pleasant to listen to. He pointed out a bear on the side of the road as well. The glacier and falls speak for themselves, very beautiful. The visitor center there was also very informative about the glacier and surrounding areas!
It's really just narrated bus transportation to Mendenhall Glacier park. The driver, Archie's, commentary was fun and interesting information about Juneau. You won't see much wildlife other than bald eagles as a good bit of the drive is on busy highways. As soon as you get to the Glacier park you are dropped off and you're on your own for a couple hours. Walk IMMEDIATELY out the path to Nugget Falls, it's a flat 1 mile walk each way. It does get busy, so early in the day is better. Amazing view of falls and glacier!! On the way back be sure to take the path to "photo point" for more spectacular views. Then stop at the visitor center (entry fee) if interested OR walk several short trails starting across the parking lot and see salmon swimming upstream (if it's the right season). Definately recommend
