Hoewel we het oorspronkelijke walvisspottende bedrijf in Juneau zijn (actief sinds 1994), zijn we nog steeds klein en familiebedrijf en worden we geëxploiteerd! We willen dat u zich deel van de familie voelt, en we zijn er trots op dat we prioriteit geven aan lokale huurlingen om iets terug te doen voor onze gemeenschap en u de best mogelijke tourervaring te bieden. We willen dat onze gidsen net zoveel van Juneau houden als jij! Deze tour biedt een extra uur bij het Mendenhall Glacier Recreation Area. Dit geeft je een uur en vijfenveertig minuten tot twee uur om zalm te bekijken, het Visitor's Center te bezoeken en de wandeling naar Nugget Falls te maken! Onze vloot bestaat uitsluitend uit zoogdiervriendelijke jetboten, en de kleine omvang en intieme setting zorgen ervoor dat u zich meteen thuis voelt bij de walvissen. We zijn trots op onze snelle transfers tussen voertuigen! We willen niet dat je langer wacht dan absoluut nodig is!

Maak een gemakkelijke wandeling naar Nugget Falls om jezelf echt onder te dompelen in ons regenwoud! De meeste mensen doen er ongeveer 45 minuten over, maar als je een langzamere wandelaar bent, of je wilt stoppen en foto's maken, is dit de tour voor jou!

Spring op een van onze zoogdiervriendelijke jetboten om walvissen te vinden! Vanuit Auke Bay Harbor zullen onze ervaren kapiteins hun lokale kennis gebruiken om u de spannendste walvissen te laten zien!

Great tour! Fun staff! Plenty of time for whale watching ( saw humpback and orcas) and for the glacier/ waterfall which is why I chose this tour. Smaller group tour which was awesome!
Staff was very responsive and flexible. I inadvertently scheduled our tour for a time that we wouldn't be able to make. I didn't realize until the day before and the staff was quick to respond and move us to a later time in the day. Plus e were able to see 5 humpbacks up close!
Highly recommend this tour. We were able to see Whales and seals! CJ was the boat driver and Libby the naturalist were wonderful. We were provided hot chocolate and a snack bag. Our bus driver, Oto transported us to the glacier next. During conversation, we found out he had been a firefighter for several forest fires in Colorado. We had ample time to view the glacier, hike to nugget Falls, and go through the visitor center. I was concerned with the timing being so close to embarkation back on the boat, but we had plenty! He even dropped us at the entrance to re board our ship! We enjoy scenery and wildlife most so we did not spend any time shopping at the port. I asked Libby about the small amount of reviews on Viator for their company and she said it was a family owned company and they did not do a lot of big advertising. The boat was very clean and had lots of indoor space to accommodate us. We were also allowed up on the upper deck for photography when we were searching for whales.
What an amazing day. Our naturalist was Libby and the boat driver was Austin. They knew exactly where to find the whales, and what a show we had! I would highly recommend using them.
The whale watching portion of the tour was good, but the Company was horrible about arranging transportation back to our ship from the Mendenhall Glacier. We showed up at 3:10PM to get back on the bus (on time, when our driver told us to be back) and when we got there it was full (including some passengers who weren’t previously on the bus with our group). They assured us there would be another bus in 5 or 10 minutes, and we waited for 30 minutes but no bus came. The dispatcher for the company was on-site, and after 30 minutes the driver of the bus that was supposedly “on the way to pick us up” was no longer responding to the dispatcher. He felt terrible and hired a cab out of his own pocket to take us back to our ship. This one employee did the right thing, but I am convinced that no bus was ever coming and we would have been stranded if not for this one employee. Fortunately we had a few hours to spare, but if we had needed to be back sooner, this 30 minute delay would have meant that our ship would have left without us. I would not recommend booking a tour with this company if you’re concerned about getting back to your cruise ship on time. This is a horrible company for the way it treats its guests and even its own employee (who was blameless in this instance).
The pick up was chaotic but once on board it was reasonably well organised through to the glacier visit. At that point we were pretty much left to our own devices and told to come back based on a bus schedule back to the dock. I couldn't say we had a 'guide' on the glacier visit we were really just dropped off and told to "walk that way". The Glacier and waterfall were worth the visit though and I would have rated higher for this experience alone. The whale watching was a bit of a farce. We were hyped up as having the best boat captain who had a knack for the finding the whale. In essence we simply joined a queue of boats radioing each other on the two way and racing to the same locations once they spotted the whales. We saw three whales and were jostling amongst a dozen or more boats. Our captain was quite reserved and stayed well outside the distance required for observing the whales. It was over before we knew it and I could only rate the experience as average and felt hat as an Australia we literally have better whale watching off the beach for free. Wouldn't do it again.
Everything about our excursion with Dolphin everything about the tour was great - from pickup at the dock to the small boat whale watching to the transport to the glacier and back to the ship. We also got extremely lucky to see a huge pod of orcas thanks to our guide’s efforts. I also appreciated that their boat is one of the only truly wildlife friendly boats out there. Thanks for a wonderful day in Juneau!
We got to see whales and seals. Mendenhall glacier and nugget falls are stunning.
The walk to the waterfall was well worth it! The ship crew and shuttle drivers were great. Thank you for the early shuttle back!
Captain JJ and Kaylee were very knowledgeable and passionate about the whales and wildlife. We saw whales, sea lions and eagles. Kaylee was especially good with the children (5 & 9) in our group. The boat was covered so rainy weather was no problem. Our coach driver William was also very knowledgeable of the area, indicating and explaining points of interest. Mendenhall Glacier was amazing. We highly recommend this tour for all ages.
