Safari in Block 5 & 6 was incredible. Sumudu was by far the best guide we had on our trip. Sumudu is incredibly skilled and knowledgeable about the wildlife, guiding runs in his family; Yala is where he grew up. His passion and enthusiasm for nature and wildlife was inspiring. This safari made our trip in Sri Lanka. Block 5 & 6 was a much better experience for us compared to Block 1. You feel more connected to nature - we only saw three other cars on our afternoon tour (in September). The landscapes were very beautiful! The vehicle was also modern and comfortable with cold water.

Awesome half day Safari with great guide
We had an awesome half day Safari trip. Pick up was direktly at our hotel. The guide was very friendly, showed us the besutiful nature and anilmals of Yala - we were very lucky to see a leopard as well as krokodiles, many beautiful birds, deers, monkeys, eagles and elefants. The guide shared his knowledge and at the end of the day he even sent us the photos he took with his high quality camera.
All in all an abolute highlight we would recommend!

Brilliant half day tour, great driver
Amazing experience, driver Mahesh was very knowledgeable and friendly. Saw plenty of wildlife including a leopard, elephant and baby crocodile! Very good value and lovely breakfast too

Not worth it
Except for a few deer and peacocks no wildlife seen. Just driving up and down the same road all the time.

The animals live freely in their natural habitat, and their movements and behavior cannot be controlled or guaranteed.
Wildlife sightings depend on many natural factors such as weather, time of day, animal movement patterns, and overall park conditions. Our drivers always communicate with other guides and use their experience to maximize the chances of sightings, but nature ultimately decides what we see.
Even when sightings are limited, the safari experience includes the beautiful landscape, ecosystem, and the peaceful atmosphere of the park.

Unforgettable experience without mass tourism
Great safari! Not as crowded as others, we were traveling alone most of the time.
Have seen many animals, including two leopards. The driver tried very hard to make every sighting possible and to explain a lot to us about the animals.

Great safari!
A great time from start to finish!
We had a great safari. Our driver-guide was very kind, passionate and really did his best to show us as many animals as possible. Thanks to him, we were able to observe many birds, deer, monkeys, elephants, and finally in style... a bear!
We particularly loved Block 6, much quieter with very few jeeps, which makes the experience even more magical and authentic.
We highly recommend this safari. Thank you again for this wonderful time!

Great afternoon tour!
We took the 2 pm tour and really enjoyed it. The driver has shared with us lots of interesting information about the park and the animals. We also loved the hidden backroads where he drove us due to that we could really emerge in nature:) At the end of our tour we were lucky enough to see 3 leopards!

A day full of wildlife
We did a whole day in Blocks 5 and 6, which are part of Lunugamvehera National Park, adjacent to Yala NP. Our guide, Imal, was a great expert on birds (which we requested and counted almost 60 species with him), but also took us to elephants, chital deers, crocodiles, a leopard, monkeys and water buffaloes. We had a delicious lunch in the heart of the park and were also provided with breakfast and bottled water. Imal managed to keep us off crowded places, so it was true wildlife experience.

Highly recommended
We have been on a full day safari in yala block 5 with our guide Srimal. Srimal was the best guide we had so far in Sri Lanka. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. He made sure we had the best spots all the time. We saw a lot of beautiful birds, crocodiles, leopards. Srimal gave us the opportunity to be part of the decision making as we already saw a lot of elephants and so he always made sure we go where we wanted and see what we wanted to see.
I would highly recommend the tour and also Srimal. Thank you!!
