The tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the company and the volume of work of Weta. The tour was fun with lots to see, touch, and admire. Having worked in the industry it was super interesting to see the inner workings of another shop and admire the amazing work they.

Thoroughly enjoyed our Weta workshop tour. Learned so much about how they make the creatures and other props and effects for the movies they've worked on. Very friendly and informative guide. Just the right amount of being talked to and being able to handle some items. If you're catching the number 2 bus from the city make sure you get on the number 2 marked Mirimar and not the number 2 marked Seatoun. The Seatoun one does not go past where you need to be for Weta workshop. Google maps only tells you to get the number 2 and as tourists to the area we didn't know there were two. There ended up being 7 of us on the wrong bus, thanks to some very helpful bus drivers we managed to find our way.
Max was a wonderful guide, she had excellent knowledge of the history of Weta which made it more enjoyable. The tour is good, you have 16 people in total which is a decent number as it is not too crowded, if you are lucky and had less people it would still be good. You move through each room in around 20 minute slots, the only downside to the tour is that you can hear the noise coming from other groups in front of you.

Can learn a lot about how a sci-fi movie is created. Daughter enjoyed a lot. Lots of fun if you are in to sci-of movies

I had visited before but it was the first time for my friend. I loved it just as much as I did the first time and my friend was overwhelmed with what she saw and the wonderful knowledgeable your guide. The organisation is a well oiled machine with impeccable timing for the tours. Such a worth while visit when in Wellington.

Such an awesome experience. Our guide was funny, patient and knowledgeable in all aspects. Unfortunately I can’t remember his name but he was the very tall guy! For any LOTR fan this is simply a must-do and is a very different experience to the Auckland Weta Workshop tour. Even if you’re not a LOTR fan, it’s so fascinating the work and detail that Weta puts into their films - they put that level of attention to detail in the tours as well.
