旧サンディエゴ修道院（現在の美術学校）と旧サンタクララ修道院（現在のソフィテルレジェンドサンタクララホテル）が位置する美しい植民地時代の広場。アンソニー・ボーディンが訪れたことで有名なフアンデルマールやラセビチェリアなどのレストランがあります。

必見、というか絶対に見逃せないのが、かつてのクラウストロ・デ・ラ・メルセドです。現在はカルタヘナ公立大学の本部と劇場として機能しており、クラシック音楽祭、文学祭、映画祭など、様々な重要なイベントが開催されています。ガブリエル・ガルシア・マルケスのファンなら、彼の遺灰と小さな博物館がここにあります。
ここは、市内最古の民間建築物であるサント・ドミンゴ修道院の跡地です。また、アンティオキア州メデジン生まれの著名なコロンビアの彫刻家・画家、フェルナンド・ボテロの彫刻作品も所蔵されています。
カルタヘナ最古の教会のひとつ、カルタヘナ・デ・インディアスのアレクサンドリアの聖カタリナ大聖堂は、植民地時代の建築の見事な例であり、この街の歴史的、芸術的な宝です。 16 世紀に創建されたこの大聖堂は、カルタヘナ・デ・インディアスの歴史を目の当たりにし、現在および将来の世代に親しまれるよう修復され、保存されてきました。
植民地時代の宗教建築の至宝とも言えるこの教会は、ペドロ・クラベール（1888年に列聖）が長年にわたり奴隷やカルタヘナの住民に仕えた場所です。また、海軍博物館や市内屈指のレストランも併設されています。
市庁舎、SENA機関、そして今日話される逸話の対象となる近代的な建物が建つ広場
かつて奴隷広場だったこの広場は、今では集会所として利用されています。また、スイーツ・ゲートや、街で有名なバーやレストランもいくつかあります。
植民地時代には自由奴隷と先住民が住んでいた場所で、現在はカルタヘナ・デ・インディアスの城壁のすぐ外側にある、落書きやストリート アートを数多く見ることができる、色鮮やかで美しい地区です。

Carlos is an excellent tour guide. He is so knowledgeable about the history of Cartegena and Colombia. He was also flexible to our needs and special requests. We would highly recommend him.

Carlos greeted us promptly at our hotel for a morning of trips to Cartenga’s historical sites and spots in the old city. He has deep knowledge of the many famous historical events and people who have shaped the city over the last 400 years. Carlos was very accommodating to our request for impromptu stops and helped us find the souvenirs we were seeking. Great experience- highly recommend
