Only a couple of hours south of Auckland but stayed local overnight, plenty of budget choices. Interesting tour in beautiful location, drove on to Natural Bridge a geological natural Arch over a river near by both sites worth a look.

Glow Worm Experience
Fabulous experience. The caves were awesome, amazing explanation on how they were formed and that they're always changing. The glow worms were amazing to see. The only disappointment was that the photo that was taken at the start was obviously photoshot and a green screen. It didn't ruin the experience- we just didn't buy a photo.

This glowworm tour was great! The tour guide was very knowledgeable and made the experience fun. The glowworms were amazing to see in person. This tour is a must see for anyone visiting New Zealand!

Glowworms and humour
These caves are an absolute must see. From the moment we entered the caves our tour guide - Steve - had us laughing whilst also giving us so much information on the history of the caves and facts about the glow worms. The glow worms were definitely a highlight but not the only highlight of the tour. Surprisingly, it was not cold in the caves as I had expected. Do expect to get dripped on though.

We had Ocean as our tour guide. He was so awesome and made it super fun. The glow worms are so cool you must see them. Shout out to Ocean for his amazing singing

It was a wonderful tour.
Although photography was prohibited so I couldn't take pictures, the cave we walked through while listening to the guide's explanation was vast and beautiful, and the boat tour moving into the final darkness felt like floating under a sky full of stars.

The waitomo glow worm...
The waitomo glow worm caves was our first experience entering a cave. The guide was friendly and nice. We even sang a birthday song for one of the tourists. Experiencing the glow worms was interestingly serene and captivating.
