I was so fortunate to have Mahmoud Gawish as my guide to see Dahshour,Samara and Memphis. His understandable English is only surpassed by his comprehensive knowledge about the history and architecture of Egypt. Every museum, workshop, or restaurant we visited, we were welcomed by people who knew Mahmoud and allowed me special access and privileges. They call him 'Professor' because he has a degree in Archeology and used to be a professor at the university. Mahmoud has a great sense of knowing when to give me a little more time at a location and when to move along. He was able to clearly answer any questions I had, including the willingness to share personal beliefs and values. I highly recommend Mahmoud as a guide with any size group. He is knowledgeable, smart and compassionate.
