ダシャシュワメッド・ガートは、ヴァーラーナシーのガンジス川河畔にある最も古く、最も壮観なガートの1つである。 カシ・ヴィシュワナト寺院の近くにあり、街の精神的な中心として機能し、活気ある儀式、神聖な雰囲気、そして毎晩行われる象徴的なガンガ・アールティの儀式が有名です。 伝説によると、宇宙の創造主ブラフマー神がシヴァ神を迎えるためにここでダシャシュワメッド・ヤジュナ（10頭の馬の生贄）を行ったという──これがガートの名の由来である。
マニカルニカ・ガートは、生と死、解放に関するヒンドゥー教の信仰に深く根ざした、バラナシで最も古く、最も神聖な火葬のガートである。 ここで火葬された人々は、木叉（誕生と再生のサイクルからの自由）を得ると言われており、インドで最も精神的な意味を持つ場所の1つである。 伝説によれば、シヴァ神が創造と破壊の宇宙の舞を披露しているときに、パールヴァティー女神の耳飾り（マニカルニカ）がまさにこの場所に落ちたという。 こうしてガートは生と死の両方に繋がる神域となった。

On that day, the water level of the Ganges River rose and the flow was fast, so we could not see the sights by small boat, but Deep, a guide who is good at Japanese, showed us around the maze-like city that we would never know by himself, and solved the ticket trouble on the way home, so we enjoyed it 😊

The tour starts with a beautiful sunrise boat tour which was a real highlight! We received great explanations about the Ghats and cremation rituals. We then walked through Varanasi’s alleyways and finished the tour with a delicious chai.

This tour overall so amazing overall! We walked along the river and looked temples from the river by boat. The guide explained not only temples and sights but also the spirits and elements of Hindu. Varanasi is more safe and charming place than I ever heard so I strongly recommend this tour:)
