This half-day tour was just what we needed to explore some sites in the city. It was our first time in Vancouver and we weren’t really sure where to go. Glad we booked this. It was easy to get the booking and we even got a mobile ticket making it super convenient. Our tour was also quite informative. Definitely worth the price of admission.
First of all, our original tour was canceled. We were happy with the substitution of the Hop on Hop off until it all went wrong. The driver, James, LEFT US at the totem poles in Stanley Park, even though we were back 5 minutes before his stated time. He also told us we could leave our jackets on the bus, which we did. So now we had to wait for the next trolley and hope that the idiot driver left our jackets back at stop one. Because we had to hurry back we couldn't hop/on or off or risk losing our jackets. We were leaving the next day for Alaska. We did report it to Gray Line, but are not hopeful of any compensation for a wasted day. Not Viator's fault, obviously, but still... Our friends the Glandorfs were part of the bad experience with us. Marcia and Charles Poveromo

This tour is much better than the hop on hop off bus tour as it goes to sites not on the hop on hop off itinerary. I think some of the other reviews highlight a bit of confusion about the 2 different style of tours operated by the same company. The trolley car is lovely and the commentary very comprehensive we thoroughly enjoyed this tour.

Driver did not show and I cannot get a response from Viator to get a refund so had to report the charge to my credit card company.
they cancelled our tour and didn't tell us. They said we will take you in this tour bus to the pick up for your tour bus. When we got there they announced finally our tour was cancelled. They shoved some 'upgraded' tickets for the wrong bus. It was upgraded as it was for 24 hours. We were only there one day and didn't want the wrong tour. We got off and tried to get our 218$ back from tripadvisor and just got the run around
The tour was ok but Viator did not advertise their tour accurately. The staff didn’t know what to do with my bag so it was brought onto the trolley. Also, I paid extra to get dropped off at the airport; however, I was dropped off at the pick-up and the staff didn’t know what to do with me as they’ve never had someone requesting being dropped off at the airport. After phone calls and confirming my tour, they finally called me an Uber. Truly disappointed overall with my experience. Viator dropped the ball on my tour. Asking for a refund and hope they confirm my request; otherwise, I will never use them again and highly recommend others to not use them as well.
The evening prior to my tour I was emailed that my ticket was upgraded to hoho trolley for 48 hours. Confusing since my tour was a 3 1/2 hr tour of 3 specific places. I called and was told the tour I purchased would pick me up as scheduled. I learned the pick up was at a different location from Blue Horizon hotel. I was not picked up on tour date and called to learn my tour had been cancelled due to low enrollment. I took the hoho trolley instead of my tour having to use the original tour ticket since I didn’t have a hoho ticket. Trolley driver accepted it but said I need to go to Canada Place to get a new ticket in order to board again. As late as 10:01 a.m. on the day of my 10 a.m. tour I was sent a reminder of the original tour I purchased. There was a serious lack of communication. A notice about an upgrade to a tour I did not request instead of stating my tour was cancelled is deliberate miscommunication. I purchased a tour that got cancelled without receiving a refund. All I got for my payment was a trolley ride for about 2 hours with no compensation for the price difference. A case of false advertising and failure to inform and compensate a consumer for paid services not rendered.
We decided to fit this in because we only had 10hours in Vancouver after our cruise before we flew home to Australia. So glad we did. What the guide didn't know about Vancouver wasn't worth knowing. Spoiled for choice for lunch at the markets. Pick up and drop off was 50mtrs from shipping terminal and about 20mtrs from a luggage storage business.
