セントメアリー教会はランドマークエディフィス、ニゴンボの中心部にあるローマカトリック教会です。 スリランカ最大のカトリック教会の一つである。 教会は新古典主義様式で建てられ、円柱と平らな壁が特徴である。 天井にはアラバスターの多くの聖人像が描かれている。 上層の壁は宗教的な聖人の彫刻で固定されている[1] 天井に描かれたキリストの生涯を描いたユニークな絵画は、N. Godamanne、地元の仏教画家。[3] ナーヴの絵画の美しさは「雷」と評されている[4] 遺言者が祭壇の一つの費用を負担したが、これはヨーロッパから輸入されたものであった
ネゴンボのオランダ要塞（ネゴンボ要塞とも呼ばれる）は、ポルトガル人が拠点都市コロンボの北約30kmに築いた要塞で、要塞都市を防衛するために築かれた。 スリランカの歴史には外国統治下での残忍な植民地化の時代が散りばめられており、ゴールやコロンボ、果てはジャフナの砦など、今日でも残る建物に戦争に燃えた時代の名残を見ることができる。
ラグーンにはいくつもの小さな川とハミルトン運河（オランダ運河とも呼ばれる）が湧き出ている。 ニゴンボ市の近く、北に狭い水路で海とつながっている。 周囲は水田、ココナッツ農園、草原が広がる人口密集地域である。 土地は漁業や農業に利用されている。 ラグーンにはマングローブの沼地が広がり、カワウ、サギ、サギ、カモメ、アジサシ、その他のウグイスなど多種多様な水鳥が生息している。 ニゴンボ、カトゥナヤケ、シードウワなどは近隣の町である。 ネゴンボの漁師コミュニティではラグーンフィッシングが盛んである。 潟蟹や潟エビは味も需要も高い。

アングルカラムーラ寺院はニゴンボで最も有名な寺院の一つです。 仏像と壮大な龍の入口で人気がある。 神殿に入るには、邪気を払うとされる龍の口に入らなければなりません。 寺には、現在コケに覆われている300年前の古代の図書館の廃墟もあります。 寺にはたくさんの木があり、亀の入った池もあります。 また、寺院には、多くの壁画や天井画、悟りに向かう仏陀の旅を描いた複雑な彫刻があります。

Between the boat and the TukTuk, we felt like we saw every inch of this city. The nature on the safari and the culture on the city tour are the perfect combination. Don’t hesitate to book with them!
I can only presume our tour guide was called Rome? From the moment we got picked up from our hotel, his hospitality was exemplary. He was always extremely informative about all the places we visited. He took us to him home, made us coffee and talked about his past job experiences. It was so interesting. We felt very humbled. I would definitely recommend this excursion as it’s a great opportunity to see the way the locals live. Absolute great shout out to “Rome”? Wish we got his name…

Our guide Rome and Sanjari where excellent. Our driver was excellent navigating around the town as there is no driving regulations as we could see.The trip to the temple was spectacular and the guide Happy was very helpful and explained everything regarding the temple.Rome is very knowledgeable and informative and very kind and welcoming we felt fully at ease.The local restaurant was great food was plenty and very tasty. We went to the spice garden very interesting Micheal was very knowledgeable but I did feel pressure to buy something. We did go back to the office to meet the rest of the team again very welcoming and lovely .The tuc tuc was an amazing we seen abitof the city will definitely recommend this tour and once again Rome thankyou for an amazing experience 🙏🙏

This trip was pretty amazing! We really enjoyed our guided tour with Rome. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. The highlight of the trip for us was visiting the Negombo - truly is beautiful place. The symbolism that Rome shared with us about the Initiation. Lastly, we enjoyed our lunch with the group (wasn't sure we wanted to do it or go out on our own, but glad we did!), another very important time that we had in the herbal and spices garden. this is a long day out and there is a few walking involved, but it truly is worth it. Lastly we been welcomed by Prasanna at Isora premises and well treated with sri lankan Tea. thank you all guys!
