I went on a day trek to Australian Camp and Dampus in Pokhara. I made my reservation the day before at a travel agency in Pokhara. I couldn't see the mountains far away because it was rainy season, but on the other hand, it was lush and I could see many natural streams and waterfalls along the climbing route, which was more than I expected. Our guide Raju was a very nice person who understood English and explained in detail the flowers and trees we saw on the way. Above all, he was the perfect guide for our paces such as rest and walking pace. It was a wonderful experience, more than I could have imagined. Next time I want to come back during the dry season. Raju is a really recommended guide.

Had a wonderful one-day trek to Australian Camp and Dhampus in Nepal. Our guide was friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable about the local area and culture. The trek was well organized, and the mountain views were absolutely beautiful. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Pokhara!

My partner and I trekked to Annapurna Base Camp with Raju in March, and it was truly the highlight of our holiday in Nepal. From the very beginning, we could tell how experienced and knowledgeable he is as a guide. Raju always set the pace based on how we were feeling, made sure we stayed hydrated, and encouraged us to take breaks when needed. After our longest day of hiking, he even phoned ahead to make sure our accommodation would have a hot shower waiting for us — such a thoughtful touch that we really appreciated. His knowledge of trekking at altitude also gave us a lot of confidence throughout the journey. Thanks to his careful pacing and attention to how we were feeling each day, we stayed comfortable at higher elevations and never experienced any altitude sickness. Along the trek, he shared so much interesting information about the local culture, environment, and mountains, which made the whole experience even more meaningful. He was calm, friendly, and incredibly easy to talk to. We had some great conversations, but he also struck the perfect balance by giving us space to enjoy time together as a couple. Raju has truly mastered the art of guiding. Even though we spent a full week trekking together, it never felt intense or overwhelming. We are so grateful we had him as our guide and would recommend him wholeheartedly to anyone trekking anywhere in Nepal. We were very sad when we finished our trek and the time came to say goodbye. I did the excursion to Mardi Himal with Raju and it was amazing. Raju is an amazing guide, friendly, attentive and knows the mountain perfectly; he adapted at all times to my needs and took care of me as if I were family. He is also well aware of Nepalese traditions and culture. Hopefully we will see Raju again!

This is the third time in nine years I have trekked with Raju. He is a wonderful guide and while he is based in the Annapurna region, he also does trekking in other areas. This time I trekked in the Everest region with him for 15 days, doing the Gokyo Lake and Gokyo Ri trek and then crossing Renjo La Pass. This is part of the Three Passes route. As always, Raju was fantastic. He is super fit and strong and helped me with lots of different things. It was my first time using micro spikes across the pass and he helped me to make sure the whole experience was safe and comfortable. I was also carrying medical equipment to some hospitals along the way and Raju went above and beyond in helping translate so that my communication with the local staff went smoothly. Raju organised everything from my accommodation to food to ensuring I always had the right equipment and was feeling well - super important at high altitude. But he’s very flexible so you can still ultimately make decisions along the way. Since Raju has been in this industry a long time, he knows the best places to sleep and eat. He was also very helpful at Lukla airport when it was absolute chaos and we had to line up for hours (there was a backlog of a few days’ of delayed flights) - Raju made sure we got on at the earliest possible opportunity. Raju also knows porters in different trekking regions so if you need help carrying equipment he can arrange this. I recommend this, as hiring porters is also supporting the local economy, in a profession that’s very seasonal and not always guaranteed. And it’s super nice to walk with a local crew, finding out about life and customs in Nepal. If you’re after an experienced guide in Nepal, you can rest assured knowing Raju has everything covered. I really can’t recommend him highly enough.

On our trip to Nepal, we were clear that the main part of our trip would be the Himalayas. The route we decided was for the base camp of Anapurna, which being well marked, we doubted whether to do it with guidance or not. At the last moment we opted for the guide option, and we were tremendously lucky to have Rayu. I recommend to do any trekking in Nepal with a guide, and that this guide is Rayu (you know all the routes that have been and have). He transmits all his passion for the mountains and takes care of us without weighing us down. It's fun and respectful. I was afraid that when going with a guide the trip might become too structured, but it wasn’t at all, as we were able to discuss the different possibilities of the route during the trip. Its 40 years of experience makes everything much easier, as you know the best places to eat, and always choose the accommodations with the best views. He is prepared for any unexpected, I was not wearing a raincoat and he lent me the one with extra. In addition to carrying a medicine cabinet and taking care of ourselves so that we did not have altitude sickness. Nepal is an amazing country, and I feel very lucky that Rayu has shown us the beauty of its mountains. The next visit we make sure we go with Rayu!

I trekked with him for four days. On the way I got sick, but he gave me medicine and lent me clothes, so I was relieved and was able to trek afterwards. I really appreciate it. Even when choosing a guest house, I chose it carefully until I was satisfied, but they accompanied me and I was able to spend the night with peace of mind. It allowed me to trek through the pleasant air, seeing amazing scenery, eating delicious food and more. I'm really grateful for your kindness. I have decided to ask him again next time. I had an amazing time on my 12 day trek with Raju, he organised everything for us and his service and knowledge went above and beyond, without the help of Raju and our amazing porter Assok it would’ve been a much more difficult time but they made it 100% achievable, memorable and awesome. I would recommend this man as a guide to not only anyone reading this review but also my close friends, if I ever return to Nepal I know who to call! To Raju, thanks again, Namaste and Hallelujah!

I’ve had a great experience during the Annapurna circuit trek (12 days). Raju (and my porter Assok) was very caring, and will make sure you are comfortabel and safe at all times. During the hike he can tell a lot about Nepal, its customs, traditions, politics and surroundings. If I’m ever back in Nepal for trekking, I’d call Raju. We were on the Mardi Himal Trek with Raju and it was 5 great days in which Raju took very good care of us and we could enjoy the incredible mountains. After every meal, there was fruit and even during the hike Raju always had fun facts about vegetable growing in the mountains and the Himalayas themselves. We felt very comfortable and could give Raj with Uno a bit of something back.
