The Titanic Visit With My Sister-Guide & Blind Accommodations Needed

My sister & I visited the tour with expectations we would have a guide. I had visited the experience before, for example in 2012, the 100th Anniversary of the sinking. I remember a guide, offered different places to take pictures, and more. This time, the guide was unavailable as there were insufficient customers who purchased tickets. We should have had a discount or the guide available even if it was just the 2 of us. What was great- the propeller, piece of iceberg and the chill of it, the Morse Code Replica, posters, artifacts, the recording at the end, the names of those who lived and died according to class and staff, the attention made to different parts of the ship- boiler room, verandah cafe, bedroom, staircase, video of the sinking. Additionally, my sister is blind and what is needed is not only the audio descriptive device- She was charged extra what would be free in most museums. Or at least a refundable fee. How else would the blind benefit from walking the experience without the guide? I was able to read about some things, describe other things but with the audio and the guide supplementing other information and additional tactile replicas and things of The Titanic-plates, jewelry, parts of the trad raised replica of the ship or parts of it- funnel(like the gigantic propeller), clothes, lifejacket, the feel of encrusted artifacts, a lifeboat, for example would have made the experience awesome. Extra suggestions- different places for picture taking memories-parlor, bedroom, 2nd and 3rd class accommodations, full models of people in period clothes (to stand by them), recordings-the captain speaking, the musicians playing, a longer recording of what's said at the end. Another idea would be short video areas to sit/hear/see the building, learn about the different passengers, icebergs, an actual telegraph Morse code message, the interviews of survivors, the arrival in New York. These would be helpful to both old and young, sighted and blind, close captioned for the deaf. My sister said she enjoyed the experience but she couldn't understand some things unless felt. Please consider some of these ideas for the future and more people will come. I still liked the time spent as it was with my sister and I was able to assist her by describing and learning more about the ship, the tragedy, the human bravery and sacrifice. Thank God for history being preserved so that others may remember.

An incredible journey through history!

What an amazing venue! The artifacts, photographs, recreations, and especially our tour guide, Marisa, made this an unforgettable experience. The museum itself is outstanding. However, Marisa truly brought this historic event to life by presenting it from many different perspectives. As she guided us through the exhibits, we became completely immersed in this remarkable moment in history, experiencing both the grandeur of the Titanic’s voyage and the tragedy of its fate. Thank you, Marisa, for your passion, knowledge, and engaging presentation. You made our visit truly memorable!

Fascinating walk through Titanic exhibit!!

Please do the guided tour it is amazing, much more information, only $5 more makes a big difference of the experience, I went thought by myself first, the computer/camera set up was not working, did not want to leave without getting that! as I walked trough the halls of exhibit a guided tour came through, it was amazing to hear I was captivated. I missed so much information that was right in front of me. I signed up for the guided tour Robert was truly amazing. Every one was so helpful.highly recommend

It was GREAT!!! Thanks to Chris!

We had a wonderful time with our tour guide Chris at the exhibit. He has knowledgeable, enthusiastic, passionate, and supplied many bits of information that we had not known about the Titanic itself. His breath of information coupled with actual artifacts on display make for a truly emotional experience. Highly recommended! From our experience, ask for Chris! Thanks! Jim and Kirk

Wonderful Experience!

My husband and I visited the Titanic Museum in Orlando last month. It was the first day trip I wanted to take upon retiring, and we were not disappointed. Marisa was our tour guide and she was great. Very knowledgeable, fun, and personable. It was really apparent she loves her job. Thanks Marisa. 🥰 Elaine and Rich

Great Time & Learned New Things

We had a fantastic tour with Marisa as our guide! She was knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. Even as someone who knows a lot about the Titanic, I learned new things, so it’s perfect for anyone. We also talked about how the boiler room crew are true heroes, and it’d be great to see more about them. The VR section was awesome, and overall, we had a blast!

Not worth the money

This is not worth the money. We drive past this place every time we go to Orlando and I have always wanted to go inside. We did the basic self-guided tour. Very boring. And I am a history buff! I love to read and explore history. This exhibit was very small and lackluster. I am sure the VR experiance was better.

Sad story but historically fascinating

Very interesting and informative exhibit. Really enjoyed it. All the artifacts are so cool. The story as you go through the exhibit is great. They give you a boarding pass of an actual passenger and you see your fate at the end. Loved it!
