We first visited this museum many years ago. Since then it has been expanded. The exhibits are Canadian focused. If you are interested in Canadian Military history, I highly recommend a visit to this great museum
The staff were exceptional and welcoming, the museum logically separated so you could choose how you viewed the museum.
Rain and snow convinced me to look for an indoor activity. I spent over three hours wandering through the connected museums. They're full of artifacts, photos and personal stories. I especially liked the First People and the women's exhibits. The coat room is a convenient place to leave jackets and other outerwear.
A great museum. There are good exhibits on Alberta regiments, as well as whole areas dedicated to the Army, Navy and Air Force. In addition, there are separate buildings dedicated to the Cold War and a collection of armoured vehicles. A former pilot showed me around the Cold War exhibit. The museum also pays homage to the diversity of people who have contributed to the Canadian Armed Forces. Also on display was an exhibit by a Métis artist. Well worth the visit.
