Our Guide/Driver was extremely knowledgeable. Was a very safe driver and took us to stop at extra places for pictures and even found us a really great place to eat after the tour. Could not recommend more, you won’t be disappointed.

Our evening trip was decent. Due to traffic, we missed out on taking a dip at the lake, as it closed at 1800 (we arrived at 1810), but this ensured we had plenty of time at the temple for sunset. Our guide informed us of the seaside communities along the way, which were very picturesque. The temple was small, and got crowded very quickly around sunset, so plan accordingly. Other than missing out on the lake, it was a beautiful sunset amongst the ruins.

Private vehicle with knowledgeable guide who listens to your wants and can adjust accordingly! Vassilis was all that! Great communication! We were able to stop and have dinner at a fantastic greek seafood restaurant (that was not a tourist trap) before visiting the temple of Poseidon just before sunset! Well worth the expense. My daughter and I visited Athens in May and had an amazing time. We experienced the city, restaurants, bars, parks and monuments whilst we were there, but the highlight was this trip. We were picked up on time near our hotel after a courtesy call in the morning of the day of the trip. The guide we had was friendly, informative and helpful. She explained all the landmarks and local information along the way. The journey to the temple was along the Aegean Coast and was beautiful. We saw beaches, varying coastlines, islands and landmarks. Then we arrived at the temple and it was literally amazing. As the sun set through the columns of the temple it was stunning. There was a cafe on site for anyone wanting food and drinks and then you pay to go to the temple and there are ample places to sit and great photo opportunities. Highly recommended trip. It was our holiday highlight.

We had a lovely experience with Vasilis as our tour guide. (This was actually our second tour with Vasilis! That's how good he is!) He is so knowledgable about history and mythology! It was a long ride from central Athens but totally worth it! There was some great scenery along the way, and once we got there, it was definitely worth the trip! Like all the ruins, admission was 20 euros each. It's an easy walk up to the temple, and the view is magnificent! We had a bit of a wait for sunset, but it was totally worth it! While there were lots of people there (I can't imagine how crowded it must be in season if there were 100 people there in the off season), we were still able to get some great photos of the ruins both with and without the sunset with no other people in the shot, which was awesome. Definitely put this one on your must-do list for your trip! And if you can, book direct with Athenaos Travel (you'll save money over booking through other sites) and request Vasilis to be your tour guide!!

Vasillas was a very knowledgeable tour guide with a deep understanding of history and mythology. The ride to the temple of Poseidon was very enjoyable as we passed through the Riviera area and saw the new housing developments of Athens.

What a great trip! Should not be missed. Our guide, Kostas, made us feel like we were visiting an uncle who lives out of town. He went out of his way to bring us to his favorite beach, and even ran late to take the kids to his favorite dessert place on the way home! (It was divine!). We arranged this trip for some flexibility travelling with young children and our extended family. The company and our tour guide were amazing. We booked on the day of travel and they were quickly responsive to our specific requests, early to pick up and generous with time and our schedule. The trip itself was well worth it, breathtaking views, a rejuvenating swim at lake vouliagmeni and a feast for the eyes and the soul taking in the coast line. Vasilis our driver was gracious, hospitable and shared with us the perfect blend of insightful local knowledge and mythological storytelling. Would 100% recommend!
