ストーン タウンは世界遺産の一部で、さまざまな文化や伝統が混ざり合っており、美しい歴史を持つため、訪れる人はストーン タウンの美しい景色を楽しむことができます。ここは 19 世紀以降にオマーンによって建設された首都です。このツアーでは、ハウス オブ ワンダーズ、古い要塞、人民宮殿、フレディ マーキュリー博物館、ダラジャニ バザール、かつての奴隷市場、カトリック教会と大聖堂など、数多くの建物を訪れて、歴史的建造物を体験します。

ハウス オブ ワンダーズは、ザンジバルのストーン タウンにスルタン バラガシュ ビン サードによって建てられました。19 世紀にはストーン タウンで最大かつ最も高い建物でした。フォロタニ庭園に面した目立つ場所にあり、古い砦と宮殿博物館の間にあります。この建物は、儀式用の宮殿やレセプション ホールとして使われていました。
ここでは、ザンジバルのナイトフードマーケットを訪れ、観光客や地元の人々が簡単な夕食を楽しむ様子を体験できます。また、フォロタニ庭園はもともと、1936 年にスルタン カリファの即位 25 周年を記念して造られました。
16 世紀にポルトガル人によって建設され、現在はザンジバルのさまざまな祭りに使用されている石造りの町にはポルトガルの影響が残っています。この建物はストーン タウンで最初の古い建物であるだけでなく、ザンジバルの首都ストーン タウンにあるアラブの砦としても知られています。
フレディ・マーキュリーは1946年9月5日にザンジバルタウンで生まれ、ロックバンド「クイーン」のリードボーカル兼ピアニストとして世界的に有名になったイギリスのシンガーソングライターで、1991年11月24日に亡くなりました。
この教会は、1863 年にフランス人宣教師によって建設が開始されました。宣教師たちは 1857 年から 1860 年頃にフランス植民地からやって来ました。しかし、宣教師たちはその土地に墓があることを発見し、建設を中止しました。30 年後に建設が再開され、1898 年のクリスマスに最初のミサが行われました。
ジョーズ コーナーは町の中心地であり、島の地元の人々や観光客がコーヒーを飲みながら冗談を言い合う待ち合わせ場所でもあります。
奴隷市場博物館ですが、以前は奴隷市場として使われており、奴隷はさまざまな国から来ていました。1873年頃にスルタン・バラガシュによって奴隷市場として閉鎖されました。その後、ザンジバルの第3代司教エドワード・スティアによってアンリカン教会が建てられ、1874年から1882年まで統治されました。彼は隣の建物で心臓発作で亡くなり、祭壇の後ろに埋葬されました。
この建物は、中央市場の建物の中で最大のものです。イギリス人建築家 J. H. シンクレアによって折衷的なスタイルで設計され、1904 年 8 月に開業しました。市場はクリークに面しており、魚、スパイス、肉、果物、野菜などの小さな市場のような場所にあります。
旧診療所の建設は 1887 年にタリア トパンによって委託されました。トパンの意図は、建物を貧しい人々のための慈善病院として使用することでした。1891 年に彼が亡くなったとき、建物は完成していませんでした。彼の未亡人が工事を再開しましたが、予算が尽きたため 1893 年に中断しなければなりませんでした。同じ年に、家族の争いの結果、建物は新しい所有者に売却され、最終的に 1894 年に完成しました。
イジュマー モスク (金曜モスク) は 19 世紀に建てられました。ドームや背の高いミナレットに比べると、ザンジバルのモスクは比較的質素で気取らないものです。しかし、1994 年にイジュマー モスクは現代的なアラベスク様式で全面的に改装され、他の大きなモスクもこの傾向に従うかもしれません。
この建物は 1865 年頃に建てられたもので、ザンジバルの初代スルタンであるセイイド サイードの娘であるザム ザムと、その夫でブサイディ家のサイイド フムド ビン アフメドの住居として建てられました。数年後、ビン アフメドが亡くなり、ザム ザムは家を出て、後の夫の親族に家を託しました。1928 年に税関当局がフォロタニ地区から新しい港湾地区に移転し、家族の家は 1987 年まで新しいコストムズ ハウスとして使われました。
この宮殿は、1830 年代にセイイド サイード ビン スルタンがスルタンの家族のために建てたもので、彼が建てた 2 番目の宮殿です。最初の宮殿はムトニ宮殿でした。宮殿は 1896 年の英ザンジバル戦争中に爆撃され、建物は当初の占領時の半分に縮小されました。建物は、スルタン ジェムシードが打倒された 1964 年のザンジバル革命まで、アル ブサイディ宮殿として使用され続けました。その後、人民宮殿と改名されました。政府機関として引き続き使用されました。建物は、1994 年に宮殿博物館として正式にオープンしました。

We had a wonderful tour around the city and learned so much about the town, its history, local culture, and Zanzibar in general. The tour was very informative and gave us a much better understanding of the island. A special thank you to our guide, who was knowledgeable, friendly, and made the whole experience very interesting and enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to discover more about Zanzibar!
It's an indisputable fact, my guest was very unique, he had a good attitude and he also liked to jokes each other so much, that made me as a tour guide, to feel more much better like I was with my family while we were doing walking tour together. 🥰

It was a great experience. Hassan was extremely knowledge and shared intersting information about Stone Town and Zanzibar as a whole. It was obvious that he has a huge interest in the history and did not just regurgitate general information. I woukd recommend him to anyone who asked about visiting Zanzibar.

We had to get up early because of traveling from the other side of the island and booked the 9 o’ clock tour with Hassan, but it was worth it! What a pleasure. After some historical and backgroud info we walked through Stone town and Hassan adapted his tour to our needs/request. An extra plus is that he effectively grow up there, what we also felt in his enthousiastic story telling during the tour. No question was too much for him. Hassan seemed a bit bored with the whole experience. He was keen for me to spend the time in different museums rather than showing me around town. He couldn’t get out of there fast enough when I said it was enough. I guess if I’d been doing the same tour for 10 years I might be a bit bored with it too. A bit of riding on the coat tails of a lonely Planet entry years ago.
it is not true for what you said and don't let people believe lies.You said the tour guide. He was jut going to show you museums and not the city. That's not true. How can you go to museums and then miss out on going to the city as a tour it's must to pass on the city inordar to go to see museame. Maybe if you're saying this was your plan before to ruin this product, that is fine but don't mislead people through your writing. Thank you.
The guide Hasan was terrific. Incredible vibe - arrived before myself and my mother. Let us pick where we wanted to stop or skip. Had loads of very good info about the town. Curated the best sites in a very nice 3 mile walking tour. Great value for the money. All in all a terrific way to get to know Zanzibar city.
