Take water. Take a guided tour. This experience opens up knowledge of other historical sites. Well worth the time and the price.
The Alhambra, Nasirid palaces and Generalife gardens are great to see. Our guide really struggled with her English and gave us way too much information. She was obviously Muslim and was pushing the ways of Mohammed and down playing the Christian takeover and other history.
We loved it and the guide Alba Jiménez was spectacular, friendly, and very professional, a delight. Her treatment and all the explanations were excellent... overall a 10/10 girl!

The Alhambra is magical , but the tour organisation was simply horrible. This was our second time visiting and we wanted to tour the Alhambra with a guide. When we got to the TOP TOUR Kiosk to retrieve our tickets before proceeding to the entrance we had to wait in line for 20 minutes only to find out that our tour had been cancelled and that an email notifying us had been sent 30 minutes earlier. The agents were rude and acted like they did not care at all. We ended up touring the Alhambra with audio guides.
Come curious about history, art, and life! Come even if it seems too hot, as 104°F seemed to us, arrived from Alaska 5 days ago. So happy we were on this tour!
