The booking through Viator was fairly easy. The lake cruise is more of a cruise of the river to the lake than the lake itself. But this is where you see the hippos and crocs as they are in the shallows. It was a very nice cruise though. Lovely hippo sightings. Nice sunset ‘view’ in way back. The only thing I would recommend for the Shoreline Tour agency, is to sell drinks or snacks on board perhaps. Overall nice experience.
We got a very great experience from Reinhardt, saw baby crocs and some different families of hippo’s! Amazing! Also the large birds were impressive to see!
You will sail along part of the St. Lucia delta. You get close to hippos, crocodiles and in our case the African osprey. Take the afternoon draft. Then you also have beautiful pictures due to sunset.
Lovely experience. Saw hippo, crocodiles, water monitor lizard, bird life. Thobe was an excellent guide…very knowledgeable and informative.

The tour was nice, but nothing more. We did the tour at 7:00 a.m., water was dripping from the roof of the boat onto the seats, which made it uncomfortable to sit. We visited three hippo groups. The guide was very nice and gave a lot of information about the animals.
A really fun experience! Thobile, our guide, explained a lot, like some really interesting facts about the crocs and the hippos, as well as the birds.
I was very pleased to have chosen Shoreline over other operators. It is a smaller boat, which means less people (max 17 passengers) and it can get closer to animals and birds that the bigger boats. Our skipper and guide Mduduze was knowledgeable and able to give us individualised attention and answer our questions and delt beautifully with my 4 and 6y old's questions. Thank you for a lovely experience.
Heynie provided detailed and Interesting information throughout - it was a jam- packed two hours with excellent sightings almost non- stop. His knowlege of the birds, crocs , hippos and general ecology and history was outstanding . A very personable host , Heynie made an excellent trip even better
This boat trip was amazing! The guide and skipper Thobile was so lovely- knowledgeable and interesting. Also very safety conscious! I highly recommend this trip!
